Olympic overdose? 3:53pm on 08 Aug 2008 Personally I do not want to watch anything regarding the Olympics. Firstly your coverage is definitely pro China and gives them the impression that the world does not care that they have thousands of people in prison for simply being mainstream Christians or Muslims. Secondly because you have the rites to the games you chose to forget the issue of drugs and corruption around sponsorship.

The Olympics games has become little more than a corrupt, international drugs festival. Worse this year its being used to justify and legitimise a terrible and amoral regime which will no doubt lead to further repression after the games as they take it from the worlds attendance that the world doesn't care what they do. I am annoyed that my license fee is being misused in aid and prop up such a regime.

No doubt future generations will look back on this in the same way we do now at those who attended the Berlin games and with the same contempt.

As to winning medals, as far as I am concerned there will be two groups of medal winners (regardless of their country of origin). Those who get caught taking drugs and those who get away with it!

I may be a daily watcher but, as with the American election I think I will be skipping the news for the next week or two.
Overemphasis on Zimbabwe? 12:52pm on 25 Apr 2008 I for one think we have had far, far too much regarding Zimbabwe. Doing part of the news for the few days around the election there was ridiculous. Your fooling yourself if you think that millions of people have or feel a connection to this country.
In previous years when you have swamped us with news of white farmers I have had discussions with friends in the pub and we all agreed that we did not think it should have been covered on the news.
Your program should become far more Eurocentric, we are constantly bombarded with news or so called news from the US. (Doubtless you have some sort of financial arrangement with one or more of the US broadcasters to explain why so much meaningless trivia makes it on to our screen from there.) Where as many important stories from across Europe (which is after all OUR continent) are never touched upon and when you finally do get over your fixation with all things American you cover a remote country in Southern Africa!
So please, please please, stop listening to your aged governors, the colonial times are long since dead, and I doubt if any more than 5 to 10 per cent of your audience cares at all what happens down there. If you are using your so called Audience feedback polls to convince yourselves that this news is wanted can I remind you that these are always carried out in London (with a majority immigrant population) and do NOT reflect the views of the country as a whole. London, BBC journalists will be amazed to hear, is not the whole country.
