Good reasons to stay up late 00:33am on 29 Jan 2009 Roger - just to confirm what I read elsewhere, that you have the rights for up to 30 minutes of highlights of each match, as opposed to just 10 now? And I assume you will only use the extra time for the big top four matches? Thus will MOTD be the same length as now?

I also agree with above posters that La Liga is worth bidding for - a truly fabulous league.
Good reasons to stay up late 5:27pm on 28 Jan 2009 Those living outside the UK - the BBC does not have the rights to broadcast EPL highlights abroad, and of course should never bother acquiring them because they are expensive and largely useless. If those outside the UK can send the BBC the annual license fee, by cheque, then that would be a start.

I don't know why some football supporters need a clock in the corner - most of the excitement comes in the fact that you don't know when a goal or other major incident will come, esp. so if you know all the results before MOTD starts as most do. A clock is completely unnecessary and a complete waste of the production team's time.
We'd like your feedback 3:53pm on 29 Oct 2008 Agree with the above commenter that the show is too short. The time slot does not particularly bother me, but it seems it has been moved to a later slot than the last series and has also been cut down in time.

30 minutes is simply not enough just as 40 minutes were not enough in the last series. I hope this has not been done solely for the benefits of BBC News/World when they re-run the show because it should primarily be for BBC One. 30 minutes makes it more a magazine show than an analytical and thinking sports programme.

Changing the pundits is a good idea but I also like the 3 main ones of Des, Steve and Tony - so try to include them most weeks if possible.

How about some further reporting by Mihir Bose or a report on football in South America by Tim Vickery?
A funny old game... 9:57pm on 06 Sep 2008 I heartily echo the above comments - more analytical and opinionated football articles are in desperate need to add an intellectual element to the website.

Think more coverage of other European leagues - i.e. a weekly column from Italy or Spain like the one from South America which is hugely popular - and also tactics. Numerous football magazines and tv shows have extensive debate on tactics - both in-match and in general - because readers and watchers are interested in this under-stated part of the game.

Currently, top sides put out reserve sides in the Carling Cup and they are the only ones who would attract an interest abroad. So the 39th game would be a meaningless competition in which the best players do not play - not a great advertisement for the Premier League.

If the top four clubs do not put out their first team for a game at Southend, how likely are they to send their best performers to Asia or America for a Carling Cup tie?

Yes, it probably had some right to be on the News. It's unusual for the News to cover breaking news as a war breaks out, but I'm glad the clowns on the 6 o'clock news found a little time for it. Also glad the Chinese PR show was on first and dominated the broadbast, because I enjoy illusions once in a while.
