An Atlantic League would sink SPL 00:09am on 30 Dec 2008 Would the winner of the Atlantic League qualify for the Champions League? Would the SPL lose it’s European places? Would the winner of the SPL be promoted to this new league, would there be relegation from this league, if not what’s the incentive? Would any Scottish teams in this League still come under the SFA, and if not would FIFA not then have more ammo for scrapping the home nations in favour of a GB team?
The knock-on effects of this league would be far more than a loss of TV revenue. The SPL and the SFA need to get a grip of this nonsense; if The Old Firm don’t want to play in their own country anymore and are actively looking for alternative venues maybe they should be suspended for a season.
If your national league does not provided you with a big enough challenge, help to strengthen that league, don’t take your ball home.

On another note; I hope Gus doesn’t win manager of the month, it’s usually a poisoned challis, and as his next game after the award is our last at Love Street (and I’m travelling a long way to see it) it would be good to see the old ground of with a win.

Rothschild v Osborne 4:31pm on 21 Oct 2008 There are nearly 500 comments on your and Nick Robinson’s blog about this story, 80% accusing you both of left leaning bias. However as most posts are from the same people posting well in to double digits, it’s hard to take any of them seriously (especially as some of the aliases are obviously the same people, see above).

Nice to see “Dave” embracing new technologies and replacing “spin doctors” with “blog doctors”. However it’s a shame that the Tories V2.0 are still trying to censor the BBC. Careful, if you carry on like this we may only be able to access your blog if an actor reads it out.

Knives, guns and teens 12:29pm on 04 Jul 2008 It makes a nice change to see the use of facts in the reporting of juvenile violence.
Is it not the case though that we have seen a rise in the reporting of teenage knifings due the fact that there have been a larger number of white middle class victims. As the majority of knife crime is committed upon those for a more deprived background, it rarely makes the news, and if the victim happens to live outside of London it never makes the news.
Undoubtedly most of the comments you’ll receive to this article will be from the usual “impartial” posters blaming Labour for all crime and denouncing you figures as lies, but if the BBC can stick to fact based journalism it should go some way to countering this media hysteria.
