Let the great G.O.A.T debate commence! 11:25am on 17 Aug 2008 1Welshbloke, that's just Merckx. Hinault, Anquetil, Coppi, Bartali, Indurain - even the likes of Kelly, Fignon etc are all much more impressive than Lance "One Race a Year" Armstrong!

As far as Olympians go, this year I would put Bolt way above Phelps, but watch out for Bradley Wiggins. He's already won one, but if he gets the other two, that's the equivalent of about 15 in the pool, same with Chris Hoy if he wins the sprint.
Which sports would you add to the Games? 06:24am on 10 Aug 2008 I would drop BMX. It's not a proper sport, just an excuse for teenagers to show off. And I would reinstate the kilometre on the track (cycling) and add cyclocross, and a five stage road race which would show off the country, finish with a criterium in the host city and feature a flat stage, a mountain stage, a medium mountain stage and a time trial. Each stage would be an imdividual medal event, as would the overall.

I would also add cricket and Rugby in whatever form. Idealy Test cricket aand 15-a-side, as these are the proper forms of the game, and not some expedient compromise for tv.

And I would get rid of events such as synchronised diving which are not real sports, relying as they do on judges to decide the results. Might as well make X Factor an Olympic event!
