BBC iD: name change to 30 characters or under 4:28pm on 03 Dec 2009 Sorry - in my post above, it should read I had to sign in to this blog this morning (after I had signed into the messageboards as per usual). I did that using the only BBC ID I have. It gave me a screen name of Researcher123456 or some such - a screen name I have not used or seen before anyway
Also, why under this new system do I have to sign in twice - once on the messageboards, once on the blogs?

I'm not sure.

I had to sign in to this blog this morning (after I had signed into the messageboards as per usual). I did that using the only BBC ID I have. It gave me a screen name of Researcher123456 or some such - a screen name I have used or seen before anyway - just here; my messageboard screen name remained the same as before. So I changed it here on this blog to my usual screen name - which now appears both on the blog and on the boards, as ever it did.

Is that a new ID or my old one?

When I signed into this blog this morning I appeared as Researcher123456 or something. So I changed my username to cricket-Angel Lightman. But the "twinkly lights" seemed to be OK on the messageboards, so I put them back in and they seem to be OK here too.

No clue, sorry.

The rise of the English South Africans 12:10pm on 07 Nov 2009 I've come a bit late to this new spin on an age-old debate, but my tuppeny's worth is that I've never been bothered by players from other countries representing England. As long as they are proud to wear the Lions, are good enough, give their all for England, and have not represented another country at the top level, and completed any relevant residency qualifications, then I have no problem at all with them.

When we used to discuss this ad nauseum on the old TMS boards it always seemed to be other countries' fans who had a problem with this; England fans seemed to mostly not be bothered. I would guess this is because we see these guys play regularly and know what they give to England and how much it means to them.

I'm not even including the likes of Strauss and Hussain in this: they're not part of this "issue".

h2g2: an update 11:06am on 12 Sep 2009 Yes, tis true, Nick did talk to us on POV - many many times. But he made it very clear that he would rather talk on blogs. And he never started a thread on the Television Board where he would have reached the vast majority of POVers and got the most comprehensive response.

Hope Badger sees this before it's modded ...
