Benitez continues defiant approach 12:00pm on 11 Jan 2009 Phil I have to say I think your bang on the money with your view about benitez. Im a liverpool fan and I think anybody who doesnt feel the pressure of their own supporters after waiting nearly two decades for a decent shot at the title doesnt deserve to be in the game because they obviously dont have any connection with those that are important-the fans.

Fergie is the master of the mind game and he has stood toe to toe with the likes of Jose and Arsene but Rafa is taking a different approach. Rather then be reactive he's being proactive and I think Benitez will be ready to equal his opposite number slug for slug so this just adds another layer to what is already a very interesting season.

P.S
I think Liverpool have a chance but I remember seeing Arsenal fall last season after a very good first half of the season so Im waiting until next month to tout my trumpet about us being title contenders!
