The ramifications of the Singapore race fixing verdict 09:01am on 22 Sep 2009 This is quite unbelievable - the cheating here was so dangerous that some active action should have been taken - there is no comparison with a bit of spying (which is tame next to this) and yet the spies get massive fines and points removed whilst Renault get a slapped wrist.

I am now losing interest - will I watch the next race? Probably not.

If he reports seeing the incident with the alleged stamping and chose to do nothing then the FA can do nothing (if they stick by their rules).

Because he cautioned Adebayor for the run and 'incitement' the FA (according to their rules) should also do nothing because the referee has already punished the player as he saw fit at the time.

What action are the FA going to take against Arsenal because of the behaviour of their fans? Throwing things on the pitch (no matter what the player has done) is utterly unacceptable and should be dealt with. Are they in the dock too? If not, why not?

Just remind me, who was it who got us knocked out of a Championship by jumping out of the way instead of making a tackle? He is today a one trick (decent cross), one paced pony. To win anything we need someone who will offer more.
Chelsea will suffer if transfer ban stands 09:20am on 04 Sep 2009 FIFA don't think that Chelsea are the only club involved in this - but they need complaints in order to act. The issues at Man Utd have been highlighted over years now - with several players making very early transitions to Old Trafford - so also, have links with Arsenal and young African-European players been pointed at.

It is interesting that Liverpool have never been accused of this, though I wait to stand corrected on this. Also, the more recent 'just-outside-the-top-4' teams have not had accusations levelled at them - Everton, Aston Villa, Man City, and so on. Does this imply that there is an underlying moral issue here - with some clubs happy to break such rules if they think they can get away with it, and others not being prepared to? I think so.
Cricket misses the point again 09:11am on 02 Sep 2009 Just as with football referees, the first responsibility of the umpire is the safety of the players. Imagine the criticism that would have been leveled at them (not to mention the lawsuits) if an Australian or an England player had slipped in this mud and seriously injured themselves.
Life in the old dogs yet 09:42am on 31 Aug 2009 What Wenger did in kicking the bottle was very dangerous - in the Devon League (a few years back now) a player in a dugout had his eye taken out by a flying water bottle. The FA have issued guidelines warning of the danger of throwing and kicking water bottles. Given this fact the ref had no choice but to send him from the touch-line.
