Obama magic offers Chicago hope 5:26pm on 28 Sep 2009 The bidding process for the olympics games have turned into an absolute farce ever since Tony Blair threw the rule book out of the window by having one to one private "conversations" with "undecided" members of the IOC in 2005!

It now seems totally transparent that if heads of state and A Listers do not pander to the IOCs ego by being present and pretending to like sport, the bidding city will be tossed aside without so much as passing nod.

Pathetic.

Olympic games deserve better....

What on earth make you think that we ever want them now?

The whole point of our bid was that most of the facilities, including the main stadium, were already up and running which would have lead to reduced costs for everyone.

The IOC have priced themselves out of the market and we are certainly not going to bankrupt ourselves, à la Montreal, Athens, London & Co, for their sole enjoyment....

London 2012 - what's in it for me? 09:45am on 10 Aug 2008 It is astounding that the only way Tessa Jowell seems to be able to sell the 2012 games to the British public is by constantly wailing with an air of desperation that those games were won « from the French », that London « beat » Paris.

Is she that incapable of selling those games on their own merit?

I hate to think what she would be saying if London had won from Berlin!
