Google Books: The latest chapter 09:22am on 17 Nov 2009 Hi, nice article and a good review. I do however feel it has missed one of the main problems with Google books that many were complaining about. That is the notable omission of any mention of 'orphaned works' whereby the copyright holder cannot be found or identified. In the old agreement these would, in essence have become property of Google. I presume this isn't the case in the new agreement but could you please clarify? Thanks

Not surprisingly, the finger is pointing fairly squarely at their Brazilian coach.'

Therein lies the problem, you list the four star players of this team and you realise it isnt a star team.

Nesta and Pirlo are both heading the wrong way towards retirement fast (or at least they should be), Pato - undoubtedly full of talent but still a few years on the young side to be the figurehead of a serie A/champions league winning team and Ronaldinho isnt even close to the world class player he was 3-4 years ago. In short Milan don't have the world class players to really mix it with the big boys, and is in someway reflected by through Italian Football as a whole with even last years champions elect Inter being brushed aside comfortably by United in the knock out stages

By abandonning the match the captains and umpires have clearly stated that this wasnt going to happen!
Cricket misses the point again 2:52pm on 02 Sep 2009 This whole situation annoys me, i mean professional sportsmen need to man up a bit. The skysports commentators discussed fast bowlers bowling from that end taking their run up back a couple of feet to avoid the puddle and bowl from 1 or 2 feet behind the crease like they had too in the days of uncovered pitches. Whilst this would change the game for bowlers from that end it would be the same for both teams and so i dont see how that would make the match farcical, unlike the first day at edgbaston where it would be one side suffering the bowling penalty and having an unbalancing effect on the match.

If a match can be played in a SAFE AND FAIR fashion, which i believe the above solution to allow then it should be played.

I recently read a blog which reflected the importance of fans in sport aimed at the premiership. It pointed out that with empty stadiums you lose the vast sums of money that come from in stadium advertising, you lose the atmosphere of the game, which has a huge impact, you would subsequently get a drop in the TV money and then less income in general. The same can and should be applied to cricket.

It's a shame for Old Trafford, they have, and are continuing to put VAST sums of money into their ongoing redevelopment meant and knowing the ECB it is OT who will be blamed for this and it may have a massively detrimental impact on the international future of the ground.

p.s. with respect to Brett Lee bowling from that end..... is there a reason he can't bowl from the other end?
Tevez a sound deal for Man City 2:14pm on 14 Jul 2009 Am i the only person that finds Tevez move a little sickening. He claimed he wouldnt move to Liverpool due to his respect for United and the animosity between the two clubs meaning he wouldn't feel right moving to the pool because he respected the fans too much..... but of course its not like City are hated by United and vice versa, apparently his respect can be bought. Sickening, like all footballers, its all about money

Tiger has had the World number one spot for 556 weeks in total and his current streak stretched to 212. Only 12 men have EVER had the right to call themselves world number 1 in the 23 years the rankings have existed, Tiger totals over 10 years worth of those 23.... enough said?

If not then lets look at Tiger holding all 4 majors at once, something Federer has yet to achieve.

Finally Tiger has some humility and decency, anyone who saw the aftermath of Sunday's final must surely have lost some respect for the 'great' man. First of all the sickening jacket, anyone who feels the need to show of about his 15 majors with a jacket engraved on it in gold. Also, it seems rather cocky and arrogant to have that premade to put it on dont you think?

secondly to compare his loss last year when he had already won 5 to Roddicks defeat seemed tasteless.

If someone needs to wear gold trim and show off that they have won 15 grand slams then clearly they dont do enough talking with their game!
Benitez must blank out Ferguson 6:55pm on 18 May 2009 Benitez came out in January and shot his mouth off in a 'carefully considered' statement which, one can only say catastrophically backfired. Benitez's response is petty and juvenille and he could at least be gracious in defeat. No team that fails to beat stoke TWICE can possibly claim to be the best in the country and if the facts dont add up Mr Benitez then you need to have another look and see if you can find what little dignity you have remaining!
F1 battle lines are drawn 2:12pm on 13 May 2009 poutsos, the reason Red Bull dont have a double decker is because the design of their rear pull rod suspension is significantly different and drastically changes the rear end of their car and it in essence sits right in the space where the airflow would go if they had a Brawn style diffuser!
F1 battle lines are drawn 2:09pm on 13 May 2009 Given the addition of Toyota, Red Bull (and by extension presumably Torro Rosso) and Renault to the list of dissidents the grid is starting to look a bit empty next year. looks like F1 might be Brawn's to rule for a while the way Mosley and Chums are going. They are all about F1 being exciting to watch and the way things are looking I can't see next season being interesting if its about number of wins and only Brawn have a car capable of winning, title could be wrapped up pretty earlier (obviously overexagerated as McLaren (if they stay) will surely be competitive.
