Brilliant Barcelona outclass Man Utd 10:39am on 28 May 2009 Giggs & Park were outclassed and did not even have the ability to be of nuisance value to the Barcelona midfield. That left Carrick & Anderson against half the Barcelona team and consequently they were always running between opposition players and never got close enough to challenge.

How anyone could pick Park & Giggs ahead of Tevez & Berbatov is a mystery. £60 million pounds for 2 players on the bench - no wonder Ferguson piles up trophies in England. Most managers wouldn't have that much to spend on the team in 5 years.
Fraudulence, theft and malfeasance 12:27pm on 15 May 2009 Replace expenses with an increased salary? The whole lot then becomes pensionable, whereas the expenses do not increase the pensionable salary.

Reimbursement of genuines out of pocket expenses works throughout industry - all it requires is scrutiny of the bills submitted and the knowledge that your job is at risk if you attempt to defraud the company.

Ferdinand 28 million
Rooney 26 million
Berbatov 30 million
Carrick 20 million
Hargreaves 18 million
Ronaldo 12 million (not a Ferguson discovery but bought at the insistence of Utd players & Carlos Querez)

Tevez 5 million for a 2 yr loan (possibly 30 million for a permanent deal)

Van der Saar, Evra, Anderson, Nani, Vidic, Park, Kuszac - each one costing 3 - 10 million.

How much would Ferguson win if he only had 15 million a year to spend (which is still more than any manager below about 8th place)?

Veron 30 million - played 2 seasons and sold for 15 - 18 million
Forlan 7 million
Dwight York 12 million - played 2 seasons and moved on for 1 million
The most divisive and tasteless selection in cricket history 4:20pm on 17 Sep 2008 Does a substitute fielder get a share of the winning prize money if he takes a catch or runs someone out?

If I were in charge of selection, I would announce that the prize money will go into a central pool and shared equally between the whole squad.

No animosity then anongst those who do not make the final 11.

Man Utd should sell 'slave' Ronaldo 12:17pm on 11 Jul 2008 Ronaldo says that it is his dream to play for Real - but not that much of a dream that he has officially asked for a transfer.

That will cost him and his advisors lots of money so if he is leaving anyway - make him put in a transfer request.
You Are The Ref special 6:30pm on 10 Jun 2008 Everyone keeps saying that te defender was off the field injured but he did not receive treatment from the trainer after the goal so how 'injured' was he?

Anyway, to be out of the game, you have to get the referee's premission to leave the field for treatment and then you cannot return and play an active part until he gives you permission to return.

Jusr sliding off and feeling a like a bit of a rest before returning means you are still part of the game and for offside purposes, deemed to be on the dead ball line.

The England home games usually play to full housws so it is still popular with the people, if not with the commentators.

How can a bowler be used to 20 overs or more per day in a Test match then come down to weeks of play with a maximum of 4 overs and restricted field placing?

How can a number 4, 5, 6 or 7 enjoy batting when he gets in with a probable maximum of 6 -8 overs left?

How often will 9, 10, 11 get a bat in their hands at all?

When I started cricket, the junior team played 18 overs each on a Wednesday night and we couldn't wait for the time when we were old enough to get in the Saturday team and play a real game of 45 overs.
