Fewer votes for BNP 4:03pm on 08 Jun 2009 Given that Nick Robinson is fairly conservative and seems to spend most of his columns bad-mouthing New Labour, it seems quite strange that the BNP supporters on here are dismissing him as a New Labour Luvvie. I suppose if you're a BNP voter, everyone else looks left-wing to you.

In defence of Brazilian goalkeepers 4:45pm on 17 Nov 2008 Gomes is a good keeper struggling to adjust to a new style of football. For the first month of the season he was Spurs's best player (not difficult). But goalkeepers are notoriously prone to losing confidence and Gomes is struggling at the moment.

With time I hope he'll prove his worth in the Premiership.

Argentine trailblazers 5:01pm on 11 Aug 2008 I have happy memories of Ossie and Ricky coming to London. My father is Argentine and a Spurs fan, so when the Spurs duo arrived in London, he volunteered his services to the club and acted as an unofficial guide to both of them. Back in those days London was not the cosmopolitan city that it is now, and Buenos Aires may as well have been a different planet. No mate, no dulce de leche, no churros and no pizza.

I remember Ossie as being slightly reserved, but Ricky was a proper Porteno. What a shame the Falklands happened and destroyed so much goodwill between the countries.
Frail batting costs England again 9:10pm on 30 Jul 2008 It seems to me that despite the doom and gloom, England have some reasons to be cheery. It's not that there aren't any good English players around - it's just that the selectors aren't picking them!

I can understand the justification for keeping Vaughan - you don't drop your captain mid-series, but I cannot fathom the decision to bring back Collingwood. His form with both bat and ball is disastrous.
Lottery of the tribunal system? 7:44pm on 13 Jul 2008 I'm a Spurs fan and I have to admit I think the Tribunal screwed up. I was expecting us to pay somewhere between £1.5m and £2m. The tribunal does seem to have a very tenuous understanding of today's transfer market.
