Missing memory amnesty 5:41pm on 17 Sep 2008 The memory format I've lost? My mind - I seem to have a brain like a sieve at the moment....
Operation Hamlet 5:10pm on 15 Sep 2008 I was not fortunate enough to get tickets for it. The thing that has most annoyed me is that it seems that half the people that DID manage to get them seem to be selling them for £300+ on ticketmaster or eBay. Hardly fair!
Pop goes my drinks choice 10:56am on 15 Aug 2008 Appletise/Peartise comes in glass bottles as do some fizzy waters so it's not just plain water that's available! Also some of the local farms around the country do juice in glass bottles. Only problem is that although some have metal caps, some have plastic.
Which sports would you add to the Games? 3:48pm on 14 Aug 2008 Take out football and tennis - certainly football, there's FAR too much of it on TV as there is. And don't, like some people have suggested, add rugby or cricket - again too much of them.

I love the gymnastics (though I'm a bit baffled by the scoring) purely because it's not something you see much. Be nice to see a bit more kayaking - perhaps display stuff like jumps and cartwheels and such (unless they already do that - if they do, I haven't seen it).

Sports to add? Perhaps an underwater course with tunnels, hoops and such - bit like a SCUBA version of a cross between showjumping and an obstacle course. Orienteering would also be great. Team skydiving perhaps? See who can do the best shapes and manoeuvres.

Getting a bit silly now but for the London 2012 ones I think we should replace discus with welly wanging and include morris dancing!
Women and technology 3:08pm on 06 May 2008 As a female working in IT/technology, it's something I wanted to do, but the opportunities through school were severely restricted - there just weren't the courses available for me.

Luckily I have always had a computer at home as one of my parents works in IT so I have grown up with computers.

As to women role models in technology in general - the only one of those mentioned in the article that I'd heard of was Ada Lovelace! I think more needs to be done to a) promote technology as a role girls can do at school (i.e. it's not just for boys) and b) actually make more technological things available to girls - if we're not given the same range of opportunities in the field early on and throughout school, of course we're not going to be taking it up because we haven't been taught how!
