Changes to BBC Weather site 5:59pm on 30 Nov 2009 Love the new format. HOWEVER, it drives me round the bend when i read 'rain shower' instead of rain showers, 'white cloud' instead of white clouds. are we only having one shower and one white cloud????????????????
After the partying, it's time to govern 12:34pm on 21 Jan 2009 Something small, perhaps, but PLEASE, mr. neil, pronounce barack obama correctly. you have said his name wrong several times today.
McCain's lost battle 10:05am on 05 Nov 2008 I am so proud to be an American today! John McCain conceded graciously-more like the John McCain of old. His biggest mistake was Sarah Palin and not realizing that US demographics have changed. I sincerely hope he can get over his anger and help with the work ahead.
Barack Obama ran a well orchestrated campaign and deserves to win. He engaged all types of people, giving us hope and getting us involved in our government again. He is a man of the times. I am proud that I supported him as an independent voter.
He will put together an excellent, bipartisan cabinet and expect us, the citizens, to stay involved. He will encourage people around the world to unite against the threats to humankind. This is the dawning of a new age for our world!
Palin's cheer 12:57pm on 20 Oct 2008 I am an independent who has only just made up my mind. I am voting for Obama because:

a) I do not think Palin is qualified to be VP.

b) I do not like the negative attacks which have taken away from the important issues at stake here.

c) I have watched the whole campaign from England and Obama has run an organized consistent campaign, whereas Mc Cain has been all over the place. The nail in his coffin's campain was Palin.
The Palin pregnancy 11:04am on 02 Sep 2008 PS. i am suspect of any woman with five children who holds down such a demanding, full time position as a governor, goes back to work three days after her latest is born and now is running for VP of a power nation?????!!!! she needs a reality check. so does mc cain. less than a million people live in alaska! 80% popularity rating??? hmmm. Reformer??? what happens if the so-called oldest president to be has a stroke on january 31, 2009???? this is scary material.
The Palin pregnancy 10:55am on 02 Sep 2008 I tend to agree with Obama on this-leave family members alone. More emphasis should be placed on her views and her alleged 'troopergate' involvement.
Who pays? 10:52am on 02 Sep 2008 The right long term decision for our country is to hold an election. This diabolical government has gone on too long.
Did she connect with you? 11:35am on 26 Aug 2008 Michelle Obama came across as an articulate, intelligent, loving woman, a great example for the youth of today. She is in a difficult position as a non politician and she has handled herself extremely well. I would rather my children follow her example than that of Cindy 'stepford' Mc Cain, or hillary 'testosterone' clinton.
Why Clinton lost 6:35pm on 08 Jun 2008 Sorry, but I don't think being a woman should be on that list. Being a certain kind of person, yes, but woman, no. She was shrill, spiteful, disorganized, nasty, less than honest, had no control over her spouse, and ran a lousy campaign, with some inept people around her. Plus she carried a lot of baggage, in her own right, not in her pastor's right, that made it seem inevitable for her to lose.

This is a new era in the world. I am pleased that she is the first woman to run for president, because a woman is long overdue, but I am glad she is not going to be the first woman president. She does not seem to be the type of person one would want as a sibling, friend, or neighbour. It doesn't have to do with gender. It has to do with personality. Type A pushing too hard.
Clinton's dilemma 2:46pm on 01 Jun 2008 Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Hilliary is a selfish person who is delusional about her supporters. She has baited them on to look like screaming shrews-evidenced at the meeting yesterday. I don't care about reverends, etc. I care about how Obama's team put together a very smooth running campaign that handled all glitches so far in a very diplomatic way. I care about the fact that he has been able to keep his campagin afloat financially. Do I want someone in debt, someone who keeps changing course on attitudes, issues? Someone who spends two weekends in PR drumming up more votes, when she is already in the lead there and heavily in debt? Do I want someone whose spouse is a loose cannon? Get the picture? I just hope she doesn't do what i think she will-undermine Obama's election.
