What can we learn from Vettel's success in Jerez? 4:29pm on 04 Mar 2009 On a different note, the most fascinating thing so far, about this new season is the Honda story.
It's like a whodunnit. No one knows what's really going on, no one knows who now, owns the team, or what it's called and (assuming it does run, which seems now almost certain) no one knows what it will do or even a real idea of what it looks like.
It's a completely unkown factor, and that is interesting, not all this idle speculating about test times.
What can we learn from Vettel's success in Jerez? 4:20pm on 04 Mar 2009 IMO, it wouldn't be that hard to be the most beautiful car in 2009. They all seem to look like a kid went crazy with his Meccano set, especially with that nose that looks as if it's propped up on a couple of sticks. Also I can see a lot of pitstops to replace those front wings, that seem to have almost got caught up there by accident.

Everton are doing well but are not in that position and won't be by season end. In fact they could easily be overtaken by Wigan or WH if either put together a few more wins-oh, and by the way I am not a Villa supporter. Just like to see things as they are.
No carping about Kaka coup 6:58pm on 16 Jan 2009 What is missed in this blog is what this kind of nonsense is doing to football as a whole. because more and more it's becoming a game where success is bought not earned and the team with the largest bank account will always win, for the simple reason, no matter how many times the manager makes a mistake with a buy, there will always be more money to put it right.
Kind of like the weather forecast, if you forecast sun, or rain enough times, sooner or later you will be right, and, of course, a wealthy club can always buy another manager, as they will be lining up to get on the gravy train.

This kind of salary, even in the exorbitant spending of the pre=financial collapse era, is more than enough for anyone to live in total luxury and comfort.

Capello shows the Midas touch 4:47pm on 20 Nov 2008 Midas touch sounds about right. For, if it hadn't have been for all those players pulling out, this team wouldn't have seen the light of day because Capello would have followed the old tradition (as he has already) of putting out the old guard in a friendly just to make sure he could claim a win, rather than use these matches to search out and give new talent a chance.
As the saying goes "some achieve fame and some have fame thrust upon them". This was certainly a case of the latter last night.

'No other strikers-Ashton can't do it because he isn't mobile enough'. You may have forgotten Phil but the key talent for a striker is to get the ball in the net. Ashton does that very well, and, I've no doubt so do a few others.
No other goaltenders? Rob Green has been consistently overlooked for no other reason it seems, that Capello (or someone at HQ) doesn't like him. Even if he didn't hack it, surely he's way good enough to have been given a serious crack.
But all this comes back to another silly statement-'Capello's brave new England'. It was as plain as the nose on your face within Capello's first few weeks that there was to no brave new England, just another rehash of the old team a-la a dozen previous England managers.
We still haven't found anyone with the guts to thumb his nose at the status quo at the FA and rip this team to bits and start afresh.
