A summit stock-take 12:04pm on 09 Jul 2008 Gordon Brown will no doubt use the opportunity to check the dustbins and find out how much food is being wasted. It doesn't bear thinking how much money is being wasted sending Brown to Tokyo. On the positive side, it's a good punishment for the whale killing Japanese to have GB inflicted upon them. Perhaps they can use him as another souce of raw meat for their dreadful sushi!

It pains me to say this, but South Africa has remained so quiet regarding Zimbabwe for mainly one reason. Like most of the nations in the world, both European and African, it is only concerned with its own interests. By "own" I mean the politicians and the establishment, not the ordinary citizen. The other reason is that apart from Mandela, who is a man of over ninety, the government is run by an gang of incompetents, the prime minister being the worst. I fear that South Africa will soon slide into the disaster which is now Zimbabwe.

You are so correct in your assessment. It is heartbreaking that the Zimbabean refugees who have managed to reach these shores are so coldly treated by the UK government. This includes both black and white refugees. I say government, because I cannot believe the average citizen is so cruel. What makes it even more bitter, is if they were terrorists, in "danger" of being tried in their native lands, they would find sanctuary and financial support here, with the blessing of High Court Judges, such as Lord Phillips.

I really agree with this posting. So easy to support the poor from a position of extreme wealth.
Real help doesn't involve giving out funds, which in most cases go into the pockets of dictators. Self reliance is what people need: the old adage of giving a fishing rod so the family can seek food still holds good.
I sound like a spiteful person, but truly I am really sick of these "cottage industries" in fund raising. They remind me of the "misery" novels which fill chain bookstores. The only people they really benefit are the calculating authors.

What we need for electical power to succeed in car's, is a revolution in technology, silmilar to the great leap when transistors replaced radio and tv valves.

He has succeeded in persuading many previously Socialist voters in changing sides, giving their vote to that gormless "wonderkint" David Cameron. I just hope this Brown character isn't an instrument of the gods, sent to confuse this already unhappy country. Whom the gods wish to destroy they first drive mad!
Household tips from the PM 7:44pm on 07 Jul 2008 I went out and on my return looked at the latest postings. Never have I seen so many angry people, disgusted with the
(un)elected prime minister of their country. Apart from the rage, there is a lot of satire, very witty and ironic, which would suit a cabaret. Why is it that highly unpopular, authoritarian regimes produce satirical works that in many cases are really quite brilliant? One can already imagine the clique of gloomy Brownites who will commence throwing scorn upon this hypothesis. Well who cares, let them do their worst, soon the clouds will roll away and the sun will shine again.
