In such sports like rugby and cricket are only successful because history, money and lower level of international competition. By 2012, the FA predicts that just 40 more Englishmen will obtain the top qualification, the UEFA Pro Licence, bringing out total to just under 150 (Spain has 2,140).

Or is there more money in sitting on the bench at Chelsea and Manchester United.

Can football learn from rugby league's play-offs? 2:02pm on 28 Sep 2009 Alot of people point to the US sports for examples about play off systems but the only reason it makes sense is if in the case of the NFL its impossible for all teams to play each other home and away in a season. (in the case of the NFL there 32 teams but only 16 games per season).

Thanks for the replies about the under 17 and 20 world cups on early Saturday morning on the world football phone in.

The point I wanted to make about the weather, in South Africa was more do with not the African and south american teams under-performing, but instead it was teams like England and Germany performing more to the optimum level with less heat to reduce the pace of the game.

In such will the south american team (outside of athletic Brazil) not do as well as that have in other non European world cups?

Sadly as you noted in the program this could play into Brazil hands compared to Spain.

Another exciting new sound for BBC Radio 3:56pm on 19 Jun 2009 so we are even more far away from live streaming of radio to the Iphone without having to pay for wunder radio app for the iphone (its a great app for US and international radio but I don't like having to pay 4 pounds plus to listen to my licence fee funded radio.)
Looking ahead to London 2012, the mobile Olympics 12:01pm on 19 Jun 2009 will this mean that by 2012 will be able to stream live BBC TV to the iphone at last and that you may in fact be able use a standard like HTML 5 that's a true open standard for video streaming than flash.
