Drogba inflicts pain on Liverpool 09:27am on 05 Oct 2009 I don't know why there was the questioning of Hilario before the match, every time he comes into the Chelsea side he is completely competent and has yet to make a mistake, even when he was under immense pressure on his debut against Barcelona. Anyone who was suggesting he was anything less than a Premier League standard keeper hadn't really seen him in action.
"We haven't gone away, you know" 8:50pm on 08 Jun 2009 I'm delighted to see the DUP put in their place this election, despite the fact that it was by Jim Allister, whose politics belong with the Ark. Perhaps now Robbo will realise that you can't act as pompously and arrongantly as he and his party have done towards the electorate and get away with it. To be perfectly honest I'd like to see Allister elected in North Antrim, anything to put the DUP (and more specifically Junior) in their place.

And GarzaofBelfast the Tories are not the only UK wide political party. Labour are present in Northern Ireland and will be running in elections very soon, the party having asked for prospective candidates for NI constituencies.
Orange rumblings and a lot of Euros 11:58am on 30 May 2009 secretpcjunki- We had one, the UKUP had strong links with UKIP but obviously it folded with McCartney failing to win an Assembly seat in 2007.
Even without them however the DUP and TUV are about as Euroscpetic as you can get.
Debates and Complaints 6:07pm on 06 May 2009 Actually Mark I'm not sure if you're entirely right about what you say about Peter Robinson being a Chelsea supporter. In an interview last year with the Sunday Tribune Iris talked of him supporting his "beloved Chelsea and Spurs."

I don't know how it's possible to support such big London rivals but perhaps Peter doesn't quite grasp the notion of opposition, particularly in a power-sharing assembly and is quite happy to support both his "beloved" and their supposed enemies.
Remember the first time? 6:20pm on 31 Mar 2009 Unfortunately the first world cup I really watched was Japan/S Korea 2002 which was a pretty awful tournament but I agree that there is something magic about the first tournament, particularly those early morning Japanese matches back when I was young enough to want to wake up at 8am to watch and it was great fun watching England v Argentina and Brazil v Turkey in school. I suppose the highlight of that world cup was the ridiculous dive by Rivaldo when he was hit by the ball on his shin and then fell down holding his face but personal higlights must always include those sunday paper wallcharts!

Absent Friends and Angel Delight 4:02pm on 09 Nov 2008 I don't like Allister at all, his politics or his personality however it stinks of hypocrisy that the DUP are getting stuck into a man who has stuck to what were formerly their principles.

He may have a twisted view of things and be an incredibly dangerous politician but given that Ian Paisley got away with that for forty five years it's hardly surprising that this element lingers within Northern Irish politics. If the DUP had stopped saying "no" a decade ago they could have neutralised this threat which could cause them massive problems at the next election.
Nelson takes a walk 8:39pm on 04 Nov 2008 If the DUP were true Unionists they would be respecting British Parliamentary Procedure and the speaker of the Assembly. However this simply proves further that they are not truly committed to democratic ideals or the British political process.

As for McCausland's argument that he read it in a book therefore it must be true perhaps new environment legislation will go towards protecting Aslan the lion or the dementors ? Or perhaps we will see the Jedi religion become official?
"A Passionate Unionist" 3:55pm on 30 Sep 2008 That English delegate is obviously extremely misguided? A DUP MP claims that the British government killed Princess Diana and says that they also spread rumours about her husband and domestic abuse allegations (Sunday Tribune). On top of that the party spend their time propsing measures for which the English taxpayer has to pay through their nose and are obviously more committed to Ulster nationalism than the Union.

Funny kind of patriotism the tories are into these days...
"Serious Consequences" 1:15pm on 27 Aug 2008 Traditional uninoist- you seem to forget that Sinn Fein cannot do anything without DUP approval either, both parties are just as guilty in neglecting thier responsbilities to govern this country.

I agree, the current system doesn't work but how can we ever expect a better system when we have such immature and useless political parties?
