Introducing green cuts 1:36pm on 24 Nov 2009 I do love the way that it is somehow a bad idea because a tory said it. Have any of you walked outside a government building at night? Every light blazing away like the Blackpool illuminations. There are massive savings to be made. Osbourne doesn't need to spell them out because the government has been bleeting about how to reduce our carbon footprint for years.
Did you know for instance that Walmart saved £1m just by switching off the lights in its vending machines. We are constantly told not to leave our TVs on standby. How many computer screens are left on in government buildings I wonder?
Vaz v Watson - Modern Warfare 2 4:35pm on 09 Nov 2009 Keith Vaz doesn't like realistic violence. Perhaps he also objects to the graphic depiction of putting out someone's eyes. Shall we ban the staging of King Lear Mr Vaz?

I guess the day that Labour politicians stop telling grown men and women what to do and think will be the day that hell freezes over.
Vexatious and irresponsible questions 10:04am on 14 Jul 2009 If the information was available in the first place then people wouldn't need to make expensive FOI claims to find out what OUR Government is doing. Open up the windows and let the "court of public opinion" in. Or would that show just how badly run the whole thing is?
What would Tories cut? 10:54am on 01 Jul 2009 So let me get this straight. You want the shadow chancellor to tell you what savings he will make if elected when he's just told you that the government won't let him see the current spending detail so he can properly understand where those savings can be made.

Why don't you interview Gordon Brown and press him on his lie that he will increase spending? If you're not sure which questions to ask there's a handy graph on the Spectator website.

And as for "young and privileged man", will you be providing a small bit of social commentary on all your interviewees from now on?
A disorganised panic 1:51pm on 06 May 2009 The reality is that they (the Labour Party) can't topple Brown. He has bullied any potential rivals out for so long that the quality of those that are left is laughable. Added to this is the sticky problem of that thing called democracy. One unelected leader we could take, but two in a row? The calls for a general election would be deafening, and it is one they would lose.

They will hold on for as long as possible, while Brown continues to bungle every week. It will not be pretty and it will not be at all the best thing for Britain. However it will mean that once 6th May 2010 comes around the thumping that Labour get will be historic.
How smart is Nokia? 00:36am on 18 Apr 2009 Nokia will really struggle in the next 5 years. The iPhone and its app store will come to dominate the market in an area where nokia could have sewn up completely. They have apps, but not all in one place and certainly not easy to install and pay for. They completely missed the rise of the use of phones on the internet in the wider sense of the user experience with the browser on a smaller screen.
I'm no Apple fanboy, but the iPhone is an absolute triumph of hardware and software working in complete union to deliver a whole user experience. It doesn't need a manual that looks like a book, it's intuitive and it works.

The market doesn't stand still. Those that don't change, die. Nokia isn't there yet, but my god it needs to rewrite its phone software quickly.
What Brown will say to Congress 10:11am on 04 Mar 2009 One phrase that will be conspicuous by its absense:
"This global crisis started in America, so it's all their fault, not mine."
It wasn't a "Balls up" 2:29pm on 10 Feb 2009 So when Osbourne and Cameron point out the nightmareish situation we're in they get accused of "talking down the economy", but when Balls opens his mouth it's "tension at the heart of government about how far to spell out the scale of the economic problem."

The BBC gets less and less impartial every day.
Who's watching you? (1) 4:05pm on 09 Feb 2009 If anyone says: "You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide" I remember and quote back to them a very good letter published in the Times.
It read:

"I fear having to prove that I have nothing to hide."

If you pen a response to the Vadera comments, perhaps you will also respond to the comments that you overdid the Osbourne story? I can but dream of such a thing...
