The Lib Dems and a taxing subject 9:13pm on 30 Nov 2009 Nick, according to one of your colleagues on tonight news the LibDems had to bring up this controversial policy in order to attract people and media's interest on themselves. Which is what you did, but judging from the comments on this blog the debate has slipped on taxation likes and dislikes and there is hardly any comment on the LibDems and their fancy policies. One cannot help but feel sorry for them: what else can they do to make people take any notice of them? They have even cloned their leader so that it could be like Tony and David!
By the way, it made me laugh to hear handsome Clegg say that they had redisegned their policy after counting the house worth over 2 millions!
He thought we are all stupid and none of us understood that the change of mind came about after counting the amount of "potential" votes they would have lost. And I am sure that after hearing all day the comments of economists and tax experts who are saying that figures don't add up he is still trying with his calculator to work out why.

Typical of LibDems: they will say anything to please anybody. I just feel sorry for Vince Cable who probably had to go along with such an empty policy just to please handsome Nick (Clegg, I mean :-)).
One cannot be bothered even to look at their figures. I would only ask
(as you rightly did): at a time when even them have convinced us that we will need "savage cuts" and probably heavier taxes (for generations, I add) to come out of the .... mess Superman has thrown us in, how can they possibly talk about playing Robin Hoods? Irresponsible, just hoping to get a few votes here and there. The only consolation is to know that they will never run the Country. Pity because they have half a dozen good people who should seriously consider jumping ship.

There are plenty of examples to back your valid point. Perhaps one is more striking. Lord Adonis: made a Lord and brought into Blair's Cabinet for his "immense" experience in Education. Today is our Transport Minister!
Incidentally I read that Baroness Ashton has commented that she is "the best person for the new EU job". That should shut up her critics!
Britain lands key EU foreign policy post 08:51am on 20 Nov 2009 Nick, the resentment for the undemocratic, unelected, inexperienced is quite understandable but what many of us seem to have missed is the fact that these nominations were the result of a "compromise" hence the unanimity. It is clear that the heads of states were not ready for these positions and rather than showing in public the disagreements they decided to appoint two "tame" figures and buy themselves another two and a half years to decide on job descriptions and proper candidates.
In other words in two and a half years time we will see the real power struggle again with old candidates(Blair) and maybe new ones (Merkel, Sarkozy and why not even our Superman Gordon who in the meantime would have completely saved the world).
Shameful that to accomplish so little the EU Foreign Affairs department will blow billions of Pounds a year (most of it in banquets, travelling and entertainment) and need 5.000 staff!
But then shame is not a word recognised in the EU vocabulary.
Nick Griffin on Question Time 11:55am on 23 Oct 2009 That wasn't Question Time. It was a public trial of the history of the BNP and its leader. Nick Griffin wasn't given a chance to express his party's views on the major current issues. Consequently most of us don't know what the BNP stands for but we may all feel sorry for the unfair treatment reserved to its leader and a few of us may vote for them as a protest against the establishment. Just think what would have happened if the same treatment had been applied to one of the three major parties!
By the way I found Jack Straw rather patethic: just couldn't answer straight and simple questions. Nick, does he remind you of somebody else?
A massive electoral gamble 11:35am on 07 Oct 2009 Nick, Osborne may not have satisfied you and many more political commentators who very foolishly demand details of cuts 6 months BEFORE a general election, but at least he has made everybody aware (and agree) that whoever comes next will have to take drastic action to get this Country out of the mess (even the LibDems).
NuLab now have to explain how they will keep on spending while making cuts (and where?).
Personally the cut of 1/3 of Whitehall costs would make me vote Conservative. Pity they haven't said 50% of public administration but that would have meant another 3 million unemployed (all NuLab voters!).
Seven months for The Sun to boost Cameron 1:36pm on 30 Sep 2009 So NuLab have unleashed their brainwashed brigade and all we can hear on TV and read on blogs is the damage limitation catchphrase: "People elect the government, not the newspapers". Pathetic but understandable.
What is not clear to me is why after enjoying The Sun's support for 12 years all of a sudden their readers are rubbished (listen to Harriet Harperson). Also if readers are rubbish why the John Prescott brigade,
whenever facing criticism to NuLab actions, speak with contempt (or worse) of the Daily Mail readers. Could it be that only the pro NuLab papers' readers are intelligent and well educated?
Seven months for The Sun to boost Cameron 11:46am on 30 Sep 2009 Andrew,
Crash Gordon and his happy family finally seem to realise that they will be judged for what they have done in the past and not the empty promises for the future. The Sun and other newspapers can help by regularly reminding people about the failures, the wastage, the scandals and so on.
It doesn't take much, does it?
Labour bets on bashing bankers 11:16am on 30 Sep 2009 What a farce! Spin at its worst. Instead of regulating and punishing the banks they come up with this silly story of punishing a few griedy bankers. In a free market it's absolutely stupid to expect to regulate what a company pays its employees even because alternative ways will always be found. What we really need is regulation on how the bank should rob their customers. Any bank's client can tell stories of hidden charges, high interest, difficulty to obtain loans, and so on. So get real for once, please.
Idelogical chasm? Tough sell 9:20pm on 28 Sep 2009 I understand that delegates must appear united in front of the TV cameras (look what happened to the 80 years old one who disagreed!) but to give the Snake a standing ovation for using himself as an example of come back is to say the least shocking. One would have thought that he is a liability and a disgrace for any party but NewLab is so desperate for leadership that treats him as a hero! What a farce!
Nick, have you already written something on tomorrow's triumphant performance of Superman? I heard you hinting on a few issues that he will cover tomorrow. Is it a guess or a whisper?
