Tories tweaking their message 7:30pm on 23 Nov 2009 Look at the rise in gold and realise that that is where the smart money is going and will continue to do so until we are through this mess - maybe for the next 3-5 years. Shame we sold ours at rock bottom isn't it! It would be worth billions more now
Nevertheless, sterling is only in the shape it is because the markets believe that the tories will win. I cannot understand how anybody could possibly vote Labour nowadays - it's all lies and spin and they are found out every few days. Another 5 years of Brown is enough to send you over the edge.
I suggest we use QE to buy gold - and prompto. Do it quietly though - don't tell the markets Gordon unlike when you sold ours and when you announced the sale of the IMF gold after the London conference. That way we may be able to make a bit back and save ourselves rather than killing the economy for years to come.
Spot the difference 3:29pm on 23 Nov 2009 Does Brown think we are actually idiots and don't realise it is him that has put the UK in the deep hole we are in? The wasted VAT reduction? The 10p tax debacle?
Now we have over a million neets and worse figures to come. We won't be out of recession, and if we are it will be so miniscule it won't even be worth cheering about.
Addressing the deficit should have been done when the economy was doing well. Also what should have been done then was addressing the regulation of the City. These are the failings Brown is responsible for - never let that be forgotten.
Reasons to be careful 1:55pm on 23 Nov 2009 How about just telling the pollsters that you will vote Labour even if you have no intention of doing so? This will make Gordon think it is in the bag and go to the country sooner rather than later. Then we can all vote to get rid of him and his cronies and we can start again.

Also why would the tories be worried about TB campaigning against them? He surely realises the game is up for NuLabour more so than anybody.

I've just read the report about Mandy and his interview stating that support was there for the PM and against the Sun on the BBC website. You also seemed to mention this last night on the news. I've just spent 10 mins or so reading through this blog and yes there are a few that say the Sun may have over stepped the mark slightly, however the vast majority don't have this view and see it as reporting the facts of Gordon's failings.
This is not Brown kicking though per se. This is the grieving mother demanding an apology and going to a newspaper that appears to be the biggest supporter of our troops - as stated by Mrs Janes last night on Newsnight - and a vehicle to vent her anger. I hope political point scoring doesn't get used to claim the Sun's support of the tories is ...oh wait a minute!

Not one but two major rows 3:01pm on 02 Nov 2009 This government gave us 24 hour drinking and then put cannabis as a grade C drug. It now wants to back pedal and appear tough with a paid expert. What a joke.

Let's see if we can educate people about drugs but the tax take on cannabis could be huge so why not allow a small amount of trade in the business so we are progressive on this front. Bringing it into the open is the only way the problem can be tackled effectively
Changing Britain's relationship with Europe 10:47am on 29 Oct 2009 It's not in the bag to assume the constitutional court will vote in favour of Lisbon yet though. I know the press likes to think it is and Labour seem to be of that opinion but it isn't. It is unconstitutional to sign it until the EU actually provides fully signed off audited accounts in my opinion because who knows where we are.

President Blair gives me indigestion too though so I'm not surprised Sarkozy and Merkel were a little uncomfortable.

Nick - if you could blog about us being a net contributor to the EU now and the fact that other countries above us in GDP are net takers then that would probably help us realise how unfair this is all for Britain!
El Presidente 2:20pm on 27 Oct 2009 Cameron should say he would take us out of the EU when elected if he is not able to renegotiate the treaty that was signed under the guise of the slight of hand by Labour. He'd get a landslide and the EU would be absolutely bashing the door down to get in favour with the UK. That would give us a greater role in Europe and would tell them we won't put up with their rubbish.

Come on Dave - do it!
