Changes to our blogs 00:13am on 25 Mar 2009 I like the style of the page, but have to agree with problems with column width. News articles are much narrower than the posts on this blog. Keeping text in small columns is web design 101.
Additionally, would be nice to have the option for comment pagination...

Now it's just the unenviable task of making the website meet them!
New BBC weather site launched 03:31am on 13 Feb 2009 I like the look of the page, but I have to agree with comments #8 and #9.

Using colours to indicate anything without further devices for clarification is a bad idea, and a quick flick to a monochrome screen shows that there is ambiguity between certain temperatures - which is bad. Seriously, what *was* wrong with the icons that were used before? Yes, perhaps they were more general and did not give as much detail as it is possible to give, but for the general viewer the information given was sufficient! The previous icons were much simpler to understand.

Also - I cannot make the message at the top of the screen go away. Ticking "Don't show me this again" appears to have no effect.

Otherwise, nice job :)

The only other remotely feasible option is flawed just by definition. Untrained moderators could not and should not be expected to fulfill the role of moderator, it's as simple as that.
The idea of moderator volunteers is a good one, but the issue of trust enters into it. The system is more open to abuse. With a corporation like the BBC, I can imagine why volunteer moderators would be less attractive, even if thousands of message boards across the web *are* effectively maintained by volunteers.

Overall, good call, methinks :)

First day to the hosts 7:45pm on 10 Jul 2008 It was a very intriguing first day indeed. I was very impressed with Bell in particular this afternoon. He played a very careful innings, punching out a bit of agression when necessary. Here's hoping he goes on tomorrow morning.

Interesting mention of a potential spin-off between Monty and Harris. I'll be very interested to see how Harris performs at the Oval.

It's worth noting how well the South Africans bowled after lunch, though. They were woeful before lunch, but they did manage to sort themselves out afterwards. Also, did you notice how much more comfortable Steyn was bowling to the right-handers? He seemed to struggle for a line against the lefties...
