Crashing the F1 party 07:06am on 24 Oct 2009 Awesome blog, Jake! I've been waiting for it all week, and of course you don't disappoint. I'm glad you're feeling better, even if you made me feel a bit queasy!

It's 2am here in NY, and I'm actually watching a rerun of the race right now. I cannot imagine what the atmosphere must have been like at Interlagos and I'm really looking forward to seeing the BBC coverage of the weekend.

I still can't quite believe that my boy is WDC. After almost 13 years of unwavering support, he realised not only his own dream, but mine too. I never stopped believing, not even on the darkest days, and although at times he has frustrated his fans, he came through in the end. Jenson is one of the nicest men I have ever met, and I don't think anyone deserves this more than him. I thought he drove the whole race like he just had to win it right there and then, that there wouldn't be another race in two weeks time. I agree with DC, it was a champions drive. I still can't watch the last few laps without getting a bit hysterical!

I've loved this season so much, and I'd like to thank you for giving us a different view of events every race weekend. I've enjoyed your blogs immensely. I promise you, you won't know what to do with yourself once you return home from Abu Dhabi!
No shortage of drama in Japan 00:07am on 07 Oct 2009 Another excellent, entertaining blog, Jake. If you want to drop in to NY on the way to Brazil, I can take you pants shopping! Surely you could have bought some from a vending machine in Japan, I seem to remember they cater to all tastes.

As a pre-F1, long-term Jenson fan, I'm getting kind of fed-up with the talk that Vettel has "blown the championship wide open", and RBR's - somewhat delusional - insistence that they can still take both titles. Now, I'm prepared to be wrong here, but I really don't see them scoring the two 1-2's they need at Brazil and Abu Dhabi with the Brawn's not picking up the one point they need. So, that's the WCC sorted.

As for the WDC, Vettel needs to win both races with neither JB nor Rubens scoring any points at all. Unlikely. Oh, and let's not forget that he hasn't got any fresh engines left. Really unlikely. RB will freeze as he usually does in front of his home crowd, and JB will pick up at least a handful of points, although I think if it all comes together for him he's got a good chance of getting on the podium. Job done.

I would hate for Jenson to get pipped at the post as he's had a stellar season. Okay, from Silverstone on it hasn't been too pretty but who would have predicted at any point up until Turkey that he'd win 6 out of 7? After every race he won people would say it would be the last, and it wasn't. I would really love him to have a strong finish to the WDC, but if he limps towards it I won't be complaining. A WDC is a WDC, after all, and at least he won't have won it with cheating, dirty tricks or suspect FIA intervention.

So I will continue biting my nails and humming quietly to myself in corners for another week and a bit, until you all hit Brazil. If and when JB takes the title, I promise to try to calm myself long enough to e-mail the forum and let you know how hysterically happy I am!

Time to explore Singapore 9:14pm on 28 Sep 2009 Ignore the detractors, Jake, I think you're doing an awesome job, and I love all of your blogs. People need to realise that the whole point of your blog was not to dissect the race with us, but to tell us what goes on behind the scenes. For that, I thank you, as I am riveted each time you post.

Really looking forward to Suzuka although, as a very long-time Jenson fan, my nerves are currently shot to bits. Hope BrawnGP can wrap up the WCC next weekend and perhaps JB can take the title in Brazil. Would be nice for them to have two parties!

Keep up the good work. The BBC coverage is truly excellent and I for one am missing it dreadfully here in NY. If the people here who say they are dissatisfied with the beeb would like to come to NY to watch SpeedTV's efforts, they are more than welcome. I can guarantee they would be on the first flight home!
The heat, the Ashes, the petrol and sweat 9:14pm on 23 Aug 2009 Envying you going home tonight, I'm stuck here until tomorrow, then I have to fly home via Madrid and Zurich! By the time I get there, it'll be time for me to go back to the airport and catch my flight to NYC.

Can I just say, Jake - apart from great blog, as always - great shirt choice this week! Well worth the hassle of washing it and drying it on the way! I could see you for most of today's pre-show and thought you looked very cool and calm.

Will miss all the remaining races on the BBC, which I am very sad about. Keep up the great work both on and off-screen and I look forward to watching all the DVD's when I come back home at Christmas!
Back in the hot seat 8:56pm on 19 Aug 2009 I have just booked a last minute trip to Valencia! Which means that sadly, I'm going to miss this weekends coverage which would have been my last BBC race before seeing out the rest of the season with crappy SpeedTV. :(

Blaming the woman, either for what she's done, or said, or for the state of the world in general, is something all female survivors of domestic abuse have to live with. Oh, and my children are fatherless because of this very issue. But I bet you think I should have toughened up and taken it, right? For the sake of the children?

I don't believe abusive partners can change, even if they want to and accept help. It's always there, bubbling beneath the surface.
