The problem with winner takes all 4:11pm on 18 Mar 2009 Surely it's pointless to make the argument of "what would have happened" were the current rules in place in previous years. Were the current rules in place, the strategies of drivers and their teams would have been correspondingly different - presumably drivers would have been much more aggressive with their tactics for a start.

I have just read the article you linked to, which begins with the line "I despise facebook". I politely suggest that you look up "circumspect" in a dictionary.

In addition, the article fails to give credit for the quote "Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser" to Vince Lombardi, which any idiot with access to Google could have discovered in less than 10 seconds.

The guardian article is an example of truly pitiful journalism; give me the BBC any day.

There was a marvellous routine by Russell Howard at the Apollo last week about how, basically, Brits don't realise how good they have it.

None of your complaints amount to anything significant. Your life expectancy is one of the highest in the world, you need never worry about access to medical services or education for your children. I doubt very much that you worry about getting clean water, or your government being taken over in a military coup by a genocidal megalomaniac. Your children will not be required to work for a living, nor is it likely that they will resort to working in the sex industry of a foreign country in search of a better life.

If all you ever have to worry about is your garbage being collected once a fortnight istead of twice, then you can count yourself very lucky indeed.

Lighten up.

Companies should not be punished for their success. If firms wish to compete with the likes of Tesco, they should do so by providing services that Tesco does not and not by relying on handouts from the government.

Government intervention in the free market only sends the message to companies that they can take whatevever risks they want as they will be bailed out if anything goes wrong. Meanwhile, the prudent firms are left wondering where is their reward for being risk-averse?
Wikipedia is censored 10:22am on 08 Dec 2008 Presumably all images of Nirvana's album "Nevermind" will also be getting censored? It does after all present the image of a naked child getting paid.
