Green's advice for happy banks 11:16am on 09 Dec 2009 "Mr Green is surely right to remind them that there is more to life than making money. Perhaps they should teach this in school."

They do - it's called religious education and it's extremely effective in enabling people to understand their common origin in God, their place in a created world and their relationship with other creatures in that world.
Two labour markets 7:01pm on 15 Jul 2009 Headline Unemployment & JSA claimant figures are meaningless without considering the parallel changes in "Education and Support Allowance" (as Incapacity Benefit is now known) and other out-of-work sickness benefits. In the last few weeks, inner city GPs like me have been under huge pressure from JobCentres to 'sign-off' people who were previously on JSA. I wonder why.
The crumbling ITV pillar 11:30am on 06 Aug 2008 ITV's difficulties show how difficult terrestrial broadcasting can be. However, at least they are still showing a profit. The problem of the BBC is a lot worse because the move from terrestrial erodes the point of its entire existence as an institution.
