Gayle was misquoted (deliberately?) by yet another English journalist with an agenda. He has no plans to quit the captaincy, despite what you might read in the Guardian.

He still believes that Test cricket provides the ultimate test (watch the interview of Sky Sports News, while ignoring the spin they put on the headline). He just says that when the time comes to make a choice between the two, some time in the distant future, he will go for 20/20 cricket, because that's where he's more successful.

Really? This was the same arrogant approach England took when they went to Antigua for the Stanford 20/20 match. Granted, England are rated higher in Test cricket, but for God's sake, show some respect to your opposition!

The West Indies may just give England a tougher fight than they expect....

A lot of English journalists have been on a witch-hunt against Stanford since he landed in a helicopter at Lords. Talk about objective journalism....

Personally, nothing would make me happier if England broke their contract, and never set foot in Antigua again. I would enjoy watching the Stanford Super Stars play South Africa so much more.

The rest of the British press seem to be obsessed with tearing Stanford down, and are looking under every stone and in every crevice for a negative story. Finally, we have a story that tries to add some balance.

Quite frankly, all this moaning and whining from the English press and players is getting annoying. I would much rather see the Stanford Super Stars play South Africa than a whingeing England team next year....
Antigua awaits Stanford Bonanza 3:27pm on 25 Oct 2008 To be fair, Stanford doesn't need to learn any lessons from the World Cup. The way he's running this week-long tournament is the way he ran the two domestic 20/20 competitions....

The World Cup was run by a WICB-appointed committee, in association with the ICC, and they did a poor job!

32 tests in five days is ridiculous! I wonder how often the American team or British team is tested.
