Who throws a shoe? 08:15am on 15 Dec 2008 Thank you SO much for those Bush videos. I have given them full circulation. And they will not stop there! He will go down in history as a first class goon. He is nothing but a poor third-class comedian who did a great deal of harm not only to his own country, countrymen and women but to the rest of the world. About which he knows next to nothing. He is now doing a merry-go-round trip instead of lying low. This is one president who deserves no mention in history - that would be the best thing mankind could do to him. He should just be forgotten. He has gone but won't lie down.
Who throws a shoe? 07:13am on 15 Dec 2008 Hilarious to see. And finally someone said what he had wanted to say for years by slinging a pair of shoes at George Bush. I have to admit it was the most amusing thing I have seen in a long time. What was even more funny was to hear and see what Bush had to say about the matter. As usual he tried to cover it all up but nobody was laughing. I don't think he should have done this final merrygoround with only a matter of days in office. It shows a lack of finesse on the part of his 'government'. With Condoleeza Rice doing the same thing, clearly there were funds available they wanted to use up before leaving Office. I think this shoe-slinging will go down in history as one man venting his wrath on what the Americans did to his countrymen and homeland and I hope it gets well documented by those of us who view Bush as the most disliked man on the earth. I was only sorry the brave show-slinger was swooped upon by men more resembling a scram in a rugby match. Four to one it looked like. And I was interested to see what this particular hurling of shoes actually meant to the Iraqis. Showing the statue of Saddam being hauled down was a good move as it explained the meaning of this gesture to those of us who are rather ignorant of the habits of other countries. This man did what millions would have loved to have done. Only not with shoes... I find it impertinent of Bush and Rice to travel to this part of the world where their invasions have left ruins. This really has done nothing to endear them to anybody. Quite the reverse. Roll on 20/01/2009!
Strictly confusing 7:20pm on 14 Dec 2008 I would like to know why and how John Sergeant got onto the show in the first place. This is not a personality contest after all, or he would have come shining through. It is a contest to find the finest ballroom dancers. And he did not come anywhere near that. The public who clearly enjoyed him on the show, in the end made a mockery of him. I maintain that no judge has the right to insult him in the manner one did. I don't like any of the judges because they are far too high and mighty. They could never dance so expertly as these competitors and I take my hat off to them all. To my mind when there are three couples, only one can win. You cannot have all three unless they all scored the same marks. I do think there is favouritism on this programme and these judges are barely professional the way they all shout at the same time. Anybody know what became of John? Such a personable man. Portly OK, but a gentleman who knows how to dance with grace.
Vatican opposes UN Declaration on decriminalisation of homosexuality 06:15am on 14 Dec 2008 Does not true homosexuality abound within the UN walls? Is behind many promotions? Has been a qualification to get on? Not to mention what goes on within the Catholic Church! Given the hard facts I think it would be expedient not to even discuss this matter. Let it lie under carpets. Everything depends on thought processes: what aspect of homosexuality each of us dwells upon is of the essence and explains simply why so many loathe it. Man and man make two. Men and Women make many.... and the church is all for making as many children as possible.
Green's arrest draws parallels 6:50pm on 13 Dec 2008 I wonder why it was necessary to invade Green's offices, with or without an arrest warrant. Because the stuff could simply have been left on a bus or a train.
'We not only saved the world' 6:46pm on 13 Dec 2008 Many a true word spoken in jest!? Which world was he referring to? I hope not the one I am about to try to jump on! ANYthing to leave here.

Actually I loved his comment. It really confirmed my opinion of him. And everybody cottoned on he had not the faintest idea of what he was saying... at any point in the debate.
What a Blairite palaver 6:35pm on 13 Dec 2008 To me, palaver means gift of the gab, long-windedness, chinwagging, jibberish and signifies a gasbag or a muckraker. It is a lovely word I recall an Indian lady using often. But then the Indians have a knack of using words we no longer use, more's the pity. For me it means more of a mess being made of something mundane. Like Blair making a mountain out of a molehill. I don't think anybody really cares if he is catholic, protestant, muslim, buddhist or aetheist. I think this is his way of staying in the limelight when his light went out a long time ago. I find it surprising anybody should think that one's religion plays a role in one's job. Many go to a church without 'belonging' to its religion. It plays a part in our freedom to choose. And if we don't go to more than one place of worship, how can we decide which suits our lifestyle and our belief. It just took him longer than anybody else to make his decision!

How right you are. We ARE in charge of our own bodies and minds. We must stick to our guns over this initiative and never allow others to interfere with our wishes.Gordon Brown's view is no more important than mine or yours! He is only a simple man like many others and entitled to his views. But he is not, repeat not, in charge of what I decide to do about the end of MY life any more than I give one hoot how his ends.
Medical dilemma of suicide law 11:37am on 09 Dec 2008 I am tired of the whole business where so many people are negative and believe another human being, whether he be a clinician, aunt or uncle, son or daughter, has the right to make decisions for someone else! Provided the person involved is of sound mind and has made his/her wishes known to friends, relatives and the clinician in advance, I see no reason for anybody else to interfere. As a member of EXIT my doctor has on my file my wish not to be kept alive on machines and in the event of a terminal illness, I wish to be helped to end my life with dignity. I do not believe anybody has the right to override my wishes regarding my own end of life. As regards religious zealots, dying has nothing to do with the church or any other religious movement. I believe in a life after this one. I also am adamant that no other person is going to either delay my arrival there or prevent me from going there when I DECIDE. Nobody has such a right over another and nobody should be so pretentious as to believe they have such right of decision on my departure. Dying is a human right! It is not the dying that concerns me so much as the process! And surely if anybody has a right to make a decision on my behalf, I should be in agreement. And I do not trust a single soul more than myself. Its my life. Its my death. I tread that milky way myself and all alone. I am unafraid. But I would be filled with fear if anybody believed they had absolute right over my own mind and wishes. Joy
