We're closing the 5 live messageboards 10:22pm on 16 Oct 2009 We pay billions of pounds to the BBC for a restricted and very poor service.

We have no control over or say in what is provided by the BBC.

Surely it is time for the BBC to be opened to public scrutiny

We want a service without censorship where we can be heard and without the relentless politically correct propaganda

Lets hope the next government can do this for the people

No ordinary week for the PM 10:57am on 27 Sep 2009 Brown has thrown everything into "globalisation" at the expense of protecting Britain and sadly the wheels have dramatically come off. Since 1997 New Labour, Blair, Brown and Mendelson have sacrificed Britain at the alter of globalisation, we have all had to pay, resources squandered, environment ruined, culture under threat and now societal breakdown.

No wonder he is running around like a headless chicken. What can we expect next civil war?

BBC decides which topics may be discussed AND which public responses may be published.

Just like the BBC phone ins, Any Questions and the like.

The old message boards were far more informative and an excellent barometer of public opinion. Unfortunately public opinion is at odds with BBC and government agenda so the boards had to go.
The role of the BBC's News blogs 5:04pm on 28 Oct 2008 Why doesn't the BBC allow the public to start and initiate discussions? The blog system is a BBC technique of controlling what can and cannot be said. Why not open some real message boards then the BBC would discover the real concerns of British people.
