Hacked climate e-mails and FOI 10:04am on 24 Nov 2009 The hacker must have had information to the effect later revealed in the emails, and Professor Jones was a probable target. No smoke without fire.
I am reminded of a website that recently stated that Al Gore should be critically questioned on his reasoning and his now acknowledged falsehoods by an open objective press. The website was biased and quoted the American bible -“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15 - biased or not they have made a good point.
Jones was hiding behind the statement "I'm just a humble scientist trying to do research." NO HE IS NOT. He is a dissembler of information and if he is doing this for the promotion of an agenda divorced from scientific fact, then he is not an eco-warrior but an eco-charlatan.
This issue reminds me of the Earth's early history where the vast majority of the people and "intelligentsia" believed the earth was flat, and put to death many who questionned it.
Today the media state that the "vast majority" of scientific thought is behind climate change caused by human intervention, without any quantifying data.
The British press and bbc keep mentioning that the USA is an unbeliever, again without any reasoning, and without any enquiry into the real positions of India and China.

Are the Democrats losing their way? 09:43am on 24 Nov 2009 Congratulation Mark on a very critical but unbiased report.
After years of suffering Justin Webb's Obamarama genuflexing it is a refreshing change from the bbc.
Obama has now gone walkabout globally as Clinton and even Bush did in their first year, just when he is needed at home. It is so much easier to be lorded as a VIP abroad than suffer the national slings and arrows.
Unfortunately, like Blair, Obama suffers from two major problems.
One - An ego that will not let him accept that he is not a great leader and Two a failure to realise that rhetoric alone will not get the job done. Oh and a Third, bad decision making.
On the latter, the appointment of Geithner was a disaster waiting to happen. Even the usually loyal, but now critical Huffington Post came out against it and they proved right.
All his major financial donors in the election now have plum diplomatic jobs in London, Paris etc while career diplomats get the lowest posts.
CHANGE? - WHAT CHANGE!

I am sure that hundreds of thousands of UK forward thinking people would have another name for this man. Unfortunately they will all be unprintable.

Catch 22:I am still not satisfied with the appalling treatment of those Iraqis who assitsted our brave soldiers in Iraq and who have been treated disgracefully by this shamed government.

I was in Iraq in June. A leading city councillor from a very violent area of Baghdad asked me, with others, of what his chances of repatriation was in helping the allies. He had been subject to two assassination attempts on his life including his car being blown up.
I could only state that Britain was laggardly in this respect, and the USA a little better, but his best bet was to work for Scandinavian forces, who were the only ones with a good record in this respect.
When politics matters... 00:45am on 10 Nov 2009 Is it not strange that the bbc and the government are complaining bitterly about the Sun, forgetting that for nearly 12 years the Sun was on a mission to support this incompetent government, and only belatedly realised it was doing our country a disservice.
As for the letter, it could have been written by a 10 year old, with more than one spelling error, including what looks like security for sincerity - you could not make it up.
What it shows is that he rules by fear, and that no person that wishes to keep his job working for number 10 can advise him. Otherwise this, and I am sure other letters of similar vein, would never have been sent.
As for one person mentioning he passed at university. I have worked with many foreign consultants with British MBA's who could not speak English well enough to pass their exams, let alone understand the questions.
Let me mark your card with a sceptical pen 6:45pm on 03 Nov 2009 On Friday 9 banks went broke in America the largest number in one day.
All taken over by one government entity.
In Germany unemployment fell for the first time in September, and in Australia over a month ago bank interest rates were raised. Yet no mention of this in Britain because it would reflect badly on Britain.
A leading US investor made comments on politicians that I cannot make in print, but ended with a great comment "They have a party and then send us the bill"
I cannot wait for this venal and incompetent government to remove itself, though I have no confidence in their successors.
BNP's 'hang generals' just 'humour' 08:49am on 21 Oct 2009 The BNP is only in the ascendent because of two reasons:
1. The bbc and the media revile them in terms that in a normal system they could seriously be accused of false reporting, and makes them now constantly in the public eye and ear as an underdog.
2. The total incompetence of this government in makeing normal development progress in Britain, not listening to its people, arrogance, and to bring us into total debt. Yet they are supported by the same bbc and some media in spite of their total incompetence.
The other two opposition parties are also showing signs of the same disease.
Hitler got to power due to social disintergration by a government that could not cope with its situation and lacked leadership.
We are not so far from this situation especially regarding leadership.
Rising slowly 08:40am on 15 Oct 2009 Nick, I agree with the original Fubar statement on the fact that there are better and more controvertial things to report on. Like the fact that the bbc do not mention that it is agreed by the USA for 21,000 more troops to Afghanistan and that Obama is in the final act of agreeing to a further 13,000 troops made up of 2000 IED specialists and the remainder community support troops.
The bbc keep pushing the positive side of a decline in the rate of unemployment, while not talking about the "solutions" this government has rolled out to slow the figures down, like undermanning the job centres, and a plethora of systems to hide the unemployed.
Most of the people I come across in the private sector are working as low as a 2 day week, while the public sector keeps advertising in the bbc's favourite newspaper The Guardian.
If you wish to remain credible to your audience then I suggest you present a holistic approach to your subject, and not parrot government propaganda.
Generals as politicians - lessons from history 09:44am on 08 Oct 2009 The problem has always been that the Labour Party have never understood two institutions. Business and the Military.
They do not even try, and very few Labour politicians have business experience (except recent minority and tainted Lords et al) and rarely have been in the military.
I remember as a child Colonel George Wigg in Dudley, who was honest and respected, and would have been voted in even if he became a communist.
The shocking conduct of the Afghanistan campaign over the last 5 years is a stain on even their lacklustre military record.
So is it any wonder that people with great knowledge of the military should be brought into government or opposition to correct previous and current incompetence?
Who cares about politics in the military? - Not NuLabour - at least 5 years ago they put "political" officers in the Army, who were advocating PC battlefield activities that totally riled professional officers. This was of course covered up.
Brown agrees to debate 09:07am on 04 Oct 2009 "He'll, (Cameron) welcome the presence of Nick Clegg in a debate with Gordon Brown hoping that in the search for Labour seats Mr Clegg would join him in attacking the prime minister".
Based on the Liberal speeches and soundbites of the last 10 years the Libs under Clegg will join Brown in attacking Cameron.
At the very least he will be a spoiler. Under Clegg the Liberals have lost it, and know it, so to reduce Conservative gains would be in their strategic interest.
'Labour's lost it,' says the Sun 08:04am on 30 Sep 2009 It has taken the Sun a long time to come to the same conclustion that the British public have done some 2 to 3 years ago.
Labour may have lost the Sun but they still have their favourite propaganda machine in place - the BBC.
Listening to the bbc commentary of the Labour Conference I ask you how can a party be so dispirited on the first day with very poor attendance, and on the final day display lots of shouting and singing after a couple of speeches by people who have made a mess of their careers and OUR country?
Juvenile as well as incompetent comes to mind.
As for Kinnock and Ainsworth - have they ever resigned over their incompetence? NO - Kinnock publically stated he would refuse a knighthood, guess what he did when it was offered?
