Keegan exit turns heat on Ashley 5:06pm on 02 Sep 2008 There's an awful lot of sympathy towards Big Kev doing the rounds- but I'm not convinced.

Sure things may not have been going exactly as he wanted at Newcastle but if I was a magpies fan I'd be more than a little miffed that a man who supposedly loves the club has once again left it in the lurch.

Lets face it Keegan has flaked out of every job he's ever had and while there may be mitigating circumstances this time the end result is exactly the same.

I may be being unfair but it seems to me that when the going gets tough, Keegan gets going!
A crucial week for Spurs 12:38pm on 26 Aug 2008 That the hierarchy at Spurs have allowed this situation to develop is the most worrying thing!

How they didn't see this coming is beyond me- if Berbatov goes (which he has to now for the good of the club) we will be left with only the seriously inadequate Darren Bent unless new signings are made.

And if new players come in they are going to have to bed in to an already massively disrupted side which itself is struggling to gel.

I don't know where Spurs go from here to be honest and am deeply sad and frustrated that our season is threatening to be effectively over before it has even started.
Controversy reigns on opening day 8:01pm on 18 Jul 2008 I can't believe AB de Villiers claimed that catch! There's a lot of issues affecting the spirit of the way cricket is played but I never thought I'd see what amounts to blatant cheating on a cricket pitch.

Take something like sledging which at it's worse is pretty bad but even the arguably the worst purveyors of that dark art, the Australians, would never ever claim a catch which was clearly grounded.

AB de Villiers should be throughly ashamed of himself and if Collingwood is banned for not making his bowlers bowl quickly enough then surely de Villiers should have an enforced time away from the game to reflect on his underhand actions.
Exciting times - but dangerous too 2:37pm on 28 Apr 2008 Aggers is as usual spot on.

I don't mind 20/20 but I do fear for the future of tests the form of the game that made me fall in love with cricket in the first place.

A 20/20 game is exciting but ultimately doesn't hold the interest or live in the memory the same way a test series does.

Look at the 2005 ashes I remember where I was during every single ball of every single match of that series and it was the backdrop to one of the best summers of my life.

A test match is a real event and something to savour. 20/20 while having more immediacy doesn't hold the same depth of intrigue that a test does.

Test cricket must be protected and held up as the the true form of the game.

If it's not then cricket runs the risk of becoming yet another garish americanised franchise.
