Barry gets England talking 4:33pm on 03 Jun 2009 Hmmmmmmm should be the title of this blog Phil - and there are some disappointing notes in here from you which I find unusual.

1) Barry's move to MCFC is money; anyone not seeing that is blind (fair play I'd do the same if I loved money more than my job)! 2) As a Liverpool fan, I'm happy as a pig in poo we didn't get him as AVFC blatantly wanted to rip us off - and I think Riera is a much better player. 3) If you think we're goning to struggle to keep Alonso you're sorely mistaken. 3 years left on his contract, one of the best LFC players this year shown by the fact he made it into several pundits teams of the season. He and Rafa have said no-go, so what's difficult to understand about that please tell me?

Make no mistake about it, Man City will not break into the top-four for a few seasons yet despite their financial muscle. Yes they have been there before as ECWC winners, but it takes time and Chelsea, for example, have still not won the Europen Cup - hense the appointment of Ancelotti.
Review of the week 4:07pm on 21 May 2009 I have to say this is one of the funniest blogs I've read all season - I've sent the one liner about Joey Barton to loads of people already... pure class Chris!

Nothing to say on the Liverpool comments - we've taken a right battering this season on 606 and the other blogs and I'm sore!

#40. Couldn't help but read that cos I totally agree. We get the same stick as Liverpool fans and hense the worldwide support of the club. We just love to hate eachother and that, I why I love football! I have to add though that MY reason for hating Man United fans, is cos most of the ones I know are plastic fans whereas I've been to Anfield plenty of times; just winds me up! If you're such a fan, go to a game or two.

As for the Toff's - quality bit of banter and totally agree! They're the kind that when you ask them what team they support, they give you the name in full, which just tickles me :)

Well done Arsenal, the only team that actually scares me when the come to Anfield and rightly so. Sammy got it spot on in his pre-match press conference "do they have a weaker team"? No, and they showed it last night. Defensive errors ruined another night for us, as it did against Chelsea last week, and the subsequent point drop it has probably handed it to United. We should have taken those four chances in the opening minutes and it may have been a different result... shame, but we could have been punished harder as their counter-attacking is top drawer!

You sound like one of my typical Chelsea fan friends who regularly batter Gerrard with abuse and will argue to their last breath that Lampard is a better player - chill out! Speaking of opinions a majority of people I know believe Gerrard to be an outstanding player in every sense; not the best in the world no but I've witnessed, along with everyone, else how he has beaten and stopped some of these so called players before - as has Lampard. Who incidentally wasn't showing the flair he was showing just the other day in the Spurs game (I'm kidding), I mean what he does for Chelsea. Some of his dead balls were shocking but he did pick up pace when he had more room and his goal was good.

On another note, it makes me shiver in horror when I see Downing in the squad... but I guess beggers can't be choosers.

Moderater's must be busy again, 2 posts above mine say 12:59 - awaiting moderation. My taskbar says 12:48... nice and speedy, we love it!

Obvioulsy a Liverpool fan I think, and I'm sure some of you will agree, that Rafa's not done too badly considering how much money he has had to spend in comparison. Unfortunately I don't think he will be as successfull as good ol' Bob, Bill or SAF due to the fact he's too soft sometimes on the under-performers; something SAF has never stood for and this has also been a massive contributer to his success.
Look at the flops in our squad and some that have left - whereas Fergie, didn't even take crap off the good un's like Becks and Jaap when he showed them the door. Something that would make me think hard as a player if I wanted to turn out for United. Respect for their manager works well for the chemistry of the enitre squad, not just the starting XI.

Benitez secures contract victory 3:55pm on 19 Mar 2009 LFC1402 has made a great point on the financial side of things; something United fans regularly overlook; but a fair point I'm sure they'll agree.

We've done pretty well in my opinion with our 'ordinary team' this season without regular involvement from Torres and Gerrard - and IF they had started most games this season without injuries there it's completely feasible that we 'could' have won the league this season.
