Thursday 17 September 2009 09:28am on 18 Sep 2009 If Baroness Scotland was 'Baroness Scotland Ltd', she'd be facing a £10,000 fine almost without question. Did she see the correct, genuine papers? Did she carry out the checks that she insists all other employers have to do? Did she give a damn at all, or did she think 'I'm a Baroness, part of this government's untouchable elite, and I'm above all that stuff'?
Sadly, I can hear the whitewash being mixed right now....

The planet doesn't need saving, the science is based on Green hair-shirt politics. The only reason the governments are so keen on it is that it gives them a whole new raft of excuses to tax us more.

This government has been misleading Parliament and the public for years over the state of the economy, but now it is resorting to blatant obstruction and lies. To delay the CSR 'til after the election is an act of almost criminal irresponsibiliy which would put this country in even greater danger than it faces at present. To do so purely because it is scared of revealing the mess it has caused would be disgraceful - to do so to cling onto power would be an act of treachery.

As for the great burkha debate, Sarkozy is right. The 'bien pensants' are always insisting we should 'respect other cultures' - but perhaps it's time Muslims respected ours? In this country - our culture - we look upon anyone who covers their face as suspicious or downright criminal. We find it offensive that anyone would conceal their face from us. So do the decent thing and uncover your faces or go to live in a country where it is acceptable.

I've just suffered through about ten minutes of swine-flu tub-thumping on BBC1 news, and now Newsnight is spending the first 20-odd minutes speculating on what MIGHT (but probably won't) happen. Remember the fuss over SARS and bird flu? What happened - sweet Fanny Adams. Please try to keep your editors under control.
Tuesday 9 June 2009 11:03pm on 09 Jun 2009 I've just seen the Newsnight interview with the guy who organised the UAF protest today, and if you think Griffin is a fascist you should really be worried about this chap. He thinks it alright to deny a legitimately elected party freedom of speech by physically attacking them and dismissed the concerns of almost one million voters out of hand, basically saying they were wrong and didn't matter anyway. Who's the fascist now?

It's as though they have never grown up and one can almost hear them giggling as they plot their next childish attack. Just because you don't get what you want doesn't mean you can throw a paddy and start lobbing custard in peoples' faces!
On the bright side, at least it matches his handbag....

Once again, the BBC casually propagates the increasingly wobbly theory of 'Man made global warming', despite it being only a theory and not supported by an increasing number of real climate scientists (as opposed to pseudo-scientists like David Attenborough and get-rich charlatans like Al Gore). When are we going to get a balanced picture from the BEEB?
