Lily for Leeds? 1:43pm on 06 Aug 2009 I think to slag off Lily Allen's appearance on TMS before it even happens is totally uncalled for.

If she is rubbish then slag it off but give her a chance.
All set for the World Twenty20 2:10pm on 30 May 2009 To the people wanting the highlights on at 7/8 in the evening you may want to know the games won't finish til approx half 8 so to have highlights of something still on seems a tad difficult.

Now given this 10pm would be an ideal time to show the highlights but the news is on bbc1 at that time and newsnight is on at half 10 so if it was on at 10 it would only be a 30 min show on bbc2, which you'd also moan about.
Burnley show the way forward 11:27am on 26 May 2009 #34, the 'trip' on Howard was a coming together of the players - yes the Burnley player touched but there was no intention and it would have been an incredibly harsh decision on Burnley & referees have to be certain when it comes to awarding pens.

Granted the one on the full back should have been given as a pen but given the view the ref had it was 1 where he couldn't be 100% certain (and for him to have been 100% certain he would have to have been behind the goal).

For it to be given as handball it can hit anywhere on the arm and frankly Jamie Ward is a complete idiot and rather than aim your irk at the referee it should be directed in the direction of Ward.

With the Clarke Carlisle one was that on 1st view my opinion was that it didn't hit his arm but even if it did given the venom on the shot there wasn't much he could do about it.

So all in all I'd say I can understand the reason why Dean gave the decisions the way he did but from a Blades perspective it will be a case of if we had a bit of luck 1 would have gone our way.
Who will win at Wembley? 4:18pm on 21 May 2009 #30 and #43 seem to have a chip on their shoulder regarding Shrewsbury's progress to the final.

Now I don't think it is unfair of Fletch to suggest it was achieved with some luck given a quote I read from a Shrewsbury point of view suggested themselves they were lucky.

If it had been the other way round & Bury had gone through after their keeper had pulled off a number of quality saves you'd feel as though they had a degree of fortune.
Europa League has its merits 01:23am on 21 May 2009 This may seem like a strange comment but I think one of the major reasons the UEFA Cup (or from next season the Europa League) has since the birth of the CL as we know it and never will be hugely popular in England is that it is played on a Thurs.

One may ask why this creates antipathy, well firstly Thursday has never really been seen as a day in which football is played in England but more importantly it means the league fixture the following weekend is moved to the Sunday and the English are incredibly protective and romanticise greatly over the 3pm on a Saturday kick off.
Who will win at Wembley? 01:15am on 21 May 2009 In reply to comment #3, there will be up to 63,000 fans at the League 2 final as Gillingham are close to selling out their 38k allocation and Shrewsbury seem to be not a million miles off selling their 25k allocation.
Who will win at Wembley? 00:11am on 21 May 2009 As a Gills fan I think if Simpson thinks repeating the performance from when they beat us 7-0 will lead to victory then I think he is not necessarily delusional but not far off.

Yes Luke Daniels and the winger Davies had exceptionally good games but my personal opinion is that it was more Gillingham lost the game rather than Shrewsbury won it. Frankly if the defence had stayed at home the impact would have been negliable.

However, since Crofts was dumped as a player & captain the Gills have developed a backbone and our 1st choice defence, which will be available on Sat, has become arguably our most consistent and strongest weapon.

Now some might accuse me of trying to spin a positive out of a negative ahead of our biggest game of the season but this is a message I have been saying pretty much all season (as anyone who has seen me comment on it on 606 can attest to).

In terms of League 1 I obviously will be supporting Scunthorpe given my dislike of Millwall and in the Championship I will be routing for Burnley because unlike most football supporters I don't have the sympathy most do for Sheff Utd over the Tevez affair.
Pay players or let them go 10:23am on 11 May 2009 For those suggesting players can walk out of clubs if they aren't being paid well yes technically they can but in order to sign for another club the original club needs to relinquish their registration of the player.

So in this example if Livingston refuse to relinquish the registration of any of their players then there isn't much they can do.
Lions selection key to success 1:49pm on 21 Apr 2009 There are a few players who can feel unlucky about not going but the one I haven't heard mentioned on 5Live so far is Delon Armitage. For me his versatility and kicking ability added on to his form in the 6N means he can feel hard done by.
Loneliness of the lower league loan star 11:30am on 21 Apr 2009 As a Gillingham fan I'm hoping Clarke is on the radar of our manager because from reading this article it seems as though he can definitely do a job in L1 and L2.

Whether we would be able to win a bidding war (in terms of wages) for him if one was to start is highly debateable.
