Cricket misses the point again 11:22am on 02 Sep 2009 Just at in the test at Edgbaston, this is so frustrating!

Surely it must be possibly to put matting on the tiny part of the ground that was too wet, to create a stable enough surface for the bowlers?
All set for the World Twenty20 10:26am on 01 Jun 2009 The BBC highlights coverage is a disgrace. 11.20pm? Why did the BBC even bother bidding for the highlights package?

Channel 5 provide excellent highlights coverage of a full day's test or ODI cricket and they manage to get it on air at 7.15pm, even when play finishes late.

I doubt that Sky are a factor in the timing given the time C5 have their programme. However, BBC, please have the decency to explain why you are treating cricket fans so badly?

One comment mentions recording the highlights. I will be doing this, but I don't have time in the mornings to watch them. I will therefore have to watch them in the evening of the following day, so a full day after the game.

Never mind the feet, look at the scorecard. Only 4 or 5 players reached 5000 test runs in fewer matches. A tremendous player.

He could earn a fortune in the IPL, were he not ill.

Surely the UK TV rights command more revenue than those from all the Carribean countries?

Wouldn't Stanford have got more money out of Sky if the game started a couple of hours earlier ie 7.30 UK time? That would still be 3.30 on a Saturday afternoon in Antigua, so a perfectably reasonable time there.

Or is Stanford thinking people in the US will want to watch?
