O2 Arena plays perfect host to season finale 10:01am on 30 Nov 2009 Russia's Nikolay Davydenko turned in a superb performance to win the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena in London.

Davydenko had already beaten Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to get to the final and yesterday he proved too strong for the US Open Champion Juan Martin Del Potro.

Davydenko played some extremely aggressive tennis early on and he was rewarded as he broke Del Potro in the 4th game of the match the Russian held on to claim the opened set 6-3.

Del Potro showed signs of life in the 2nd set but Davydenko's pace and accuracy ultimately proved too much for the Argentine as the Russian sealed the set 6-4 and the match 6-3 6-4.

Last year Davydenko reached the finals of the World Tour finals when it was held in Shanghai however on that occasion he lost in the title match to the world number 3 Novak Djokovic.
Del Potro sets seal on memorable US Open 8:23pm on 17 Sep 2009 Juan Martin Del Potro produced a sensational display to beat World number 1 Roger Federer and claim his 1st Grand Slam title at the US Open on Monday night.

The match was an epic 5 set encounter, and it is the 3rd time that a Grand Slam final this year has gone the distance and Federer who is regarded by many as the greatest tennis players of all time was involved in all 3 matches.
The World number 1 fought back from 2 sets to 1 down against Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open to send the match into a 5th set however Nadal proved too strong in the decider as he ran away with it 6-2.
In this year's Wimbledon Final Federer lost the 1st set 7-5 to America's Andy Roddick, however he rebounded and won the next 2 sets 7-6 7-6 to take a 2 sets to one lead, and although Roddick did fight back and win the 4th set 6-3, Federer held on to win an epic 5th set 16-14.

Murray nears the summit 7:40pm on 20 Aug 2009 World Number 2 Andy Murray is in the form of his life after winning the ATP Masters 1000 Event in Montreal last week, it was the 4th Masters 1000 title of Murray’s career so far.

Murray’s triumph in Montreal saw him replace Rafael Nadal as the World Number 2.
The Scot also triumphed in Miami earlier this year when he defeated the Serb Novak Djokovic 6-1 7-5 in the final.
Many installed Murray as favorite for this year’s Australian Open but the British Number 1 was stunned in the 4th round by an inspired Fernando Verdasco in 5 gripping sets.

Murray reached the maiden Grand Slam Final of his career last year at the US Open but he was defeated 6-2 7-5 6-2 by World Number 1 Roger Federer.

Given Ramprakash’s superb form and experience picking the 39 year old for the 5th Test could well be a very shrewd move by England.
