Comments 12:11pm on 14 Aug 2009 Berniew, I hope you actually gave Los Lobos a chance before you left to go to Satge 2...as Paul says you had two chances to see Lau anyway (and like Paul I saw them on the Sunday).

Los Lobos are sadly misunderstood by people who choose only to remember their number one hit, La Bamba. They have more connections with traditional music than you'd think (and more than almost anybody else who took the stage over the weekend). If you'd hung around for even 15 minutes you'd have seen this for yourself.

As for wearing shades on stage....have you ever seen Bellowhead?

Jim Moray on XTC 3:51pm on 17 Dec 2008 Loved the eccentricity of XTC....I remember buying 'Senses Working Overtime' when it came out. It's still one of my favourite singles but looking back it's bizarre to think that a song as gloriously convoluted and bitty as that could ever be a major hit.

Wonder whether anything like that could still happen in 2009.... ??
