Are you running for EU president (Wales "I'm certainly not Tony" candidate)? Shopping at Tescos? Advising Edwina on medya presentation in the "era of deep regime change"? Lunching with the delightful Kinnocks?

Oh YES, right Betsan! Gordon is truly the popular Vote Winner/Endorser! He has that certain magic "touch"! (have you been on the conference alko-pops already? Shame!)

Meanwhile Jessica Moredon turns up with Huw! Well, the voters of Newport W. will be so delighted that she's still alive.. she's been TOTALLY invisible for the past four years. Maybe Gordon can "touch her" too? Fix it Betsan. You are obviously "enthused"... and in Jackie Ashley territory. Nr. Barking.

How can we attract much meeded inward investment into our poverty ridden under-developed region unless we fully equipe our best civil servants to give BIG BUNGS to footloose foreign investors? And extra long lunches...and "ladies of the night on tap" as the good old WELSH WDA used to do? Not so long ago.

It's a rough old world out there in Global/local Econ-Develo Land. Wales must NOT be left behind.

Tightrope walking 11:57am on 25 Jun 2009 This consultation exercise has been an excellent use of unused public money with the "masses" breaking down the doors of the packed meetings in their crazed enthusiasm for MORE POWERS NOW! And EVEN MORE ON FRIDAY!...AND AFTER THAT? ENTERNAL LFE FOR ALL WELSH PEOPLE! (except Newport).

Hot curries all round...OH NO! The Etonians are arriving soon to spoil things! Maybe we should abolish the ENGLISH public schools first and THEN hold a referendum on our "Welshness" (more WElsh than you, innit).

My comment (1) above was er..."ironic" Don't BBC Wales "do" irony? Surely BBC Wales is itself totally "ironic"?

I was NOT really suggesting that counter-revolutionary dissenters from our SPLENDIDLY "transparent" devolutionist project should be taken out and publicly shot in the street. That would be truly anti-democratic. And messy at a time of major public sector economies when our kids can't afford free (Plaid) laptops.

1865* and all that 10:28am on 10 Jun 2009 There is a convenient Labour/Plaid folk mythology that the Tories have never had purchase in Wales, that our rosy-cosy Wales is "classless" and organic, that we all "love each other very much", just like the Teletubbies, that the Welsh would never have voted for Thatcher (they did significantly in 1983 winning 14 seats) and thus supported her policies, and that the current Tory/UKIP vote is illusory. I detest the Tories and everything they stand for but with open eyes. Underestimate what's happening NOW at your peril.

The Tory and UKIP vote is, if nothing else, core "Unionist" by definition and by gut. Yes, the latter may be a protest vote but the protest didn't go to Plaid. Why? Because Plaid are now damaged "establishment" goods by association/coalition with Labour - the price you pay. There IS a dramatic shift in Welsh politics which changes all the bets.(look at the map in today's W.Mail). This tide in anti-politician sentiment began well before the expenses saga and is also fully directed at our own "golden ones". Ignore at your peril. A referendum in 2011? In your dreams.
