Tory 'watch-list' of 'potentially embarrassing' candidates 3:10pm on 06 Jan 2009 With the Evening Standard reporting that Caroline Spelman is shortly to be cleared of any wrongdoing in the so-called 'Nanny-gate' affair, it seems as though Mr. Crick has scraped around at the bottom of a barrel to find another anti-Tory story to make a huge deal out of.

I trust that if and when Spelman is cleared, Mr. Crick will make a public apology for smearing her name in the mud?
Intriguing politics 8:26pm on 15 Dec 2008 122 - Not at all. But you'd think that anyone reasonably intelligent would be able to do more than push Gordon Brown's nonsense catchphrase? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe you're not actually capable of thinking for yourself.
Intriguing politics 6:05pm on 15 Dec 2008 Can I just say that anyone on here who has used the phrase 'Do Nothing Cameron/Dave' or similar must be a Labour troll. There's not a chance that anyone who knows anything about politics actually thinks this is a good argument. First of all, because the Conservatives can't actually 'do' anything - they are not in government. And secondly, they have made a number of proposals to tackle the crisis. In fact, if you read the Financial Times this morning there's a letter from important industrialists and financial experts saying that the Conservative approach to loans is what is needed, and will be of more use than anything Brown has done.
Serious questions to answer 10:02pm on 03 Dec 2008 112 - the Official Secrets Act has nothing to do with this. And even if it did, you are not acting in contravention of the OSA if the information you disclose is not harmful to the UK or it's interests. Note the important fact there - the UK and its interests - not the interests of the Labour party. What motivated Galley is absolutely irrelevant; if there is no harm caused, there cannot be a breach. And, again, the OSA is not relevant here. At all.

Oh, come off it, Nick. Of course he wouldn't; no PM would. But why on earth should he give Labour the satisfaction of answering their incredibly loaded question? It's like the classic 'and when did you stop beating your wife?' question.

The real issue here is the ineptitude of the Michael Martin, Jill Pay - yet another Labour stooge if ever there was one - and the extremely over the top actions by the Met carried out by Jacqui Smith's favourite copper and, apparently, based on false leads from the Cabinet Office. Add to this the serious doubts about just how much both Smith and Brown knew, and we've got a situation that's a thousand times more important than whether Cameron will answer this stupid hypothetical. Grow up.

They are called the Opposition for a reason; when the government does something stupid, or makes decisions that are bad for the country, the opposition are supposed to call them out on it. Sorry we don't live in Soviet Russia.

Irresponsible or prudent? 5:00pm on 15 Nov 2008 All hail the mighty leader and his glorious trips to the ends of the earth to save us from this Osborne man.

What nonsense.

The economy is an absolute mess, the pound has lost a quarter of its value in 3 months, and all before Osborne even said a word. Maybe the real culprits - those in Nos. 10 and 11 - should get their heads out of the sand and aknowledge their mistakes before it's too late.
Talking tax cuts 4:14pm on 10 Nov 2008 Labour's plan to cut taxes through borrowing money make as much sense as taking out a loan you can't afford to pay back to get something you want. Rather than say, sell unwanted items - which is essentially what the Tories are planning to do - Labour want to increase the national debt for which future taxpayers will pay.

It's a tax con - and Brown has a history of them. Don't be taken in this time.
Storm over Corfu 7:45pm on 25 Oct 2008 I trust the BBC will be covering this latest development with the fire and energy with which they covered the Osborne non-story?

Sterling shunned 9:25pm on 24 Oct 2008 Robert, rather than searching for something good to say, why don't you try some objective journalism and highlight your chum Brown's hand in all these problems.

Or maybe it was all George Osborne's fault...
