Google - do you speak the Queen's English? 9:44pm on 21 Nov 2008 In defense of American English at least it is more standardized and more universal. Most native British can't even speak basic English. 'Cos itsa bore innit. Like know what I mean? Being British and having lived in America for a long time I can honestly say that there are far more people per-capita (if you don't know what that means then I'm talking about you) with horrifically limited vocabulary in the UK. It's high time the British dumped their snobbery about American culture and just admitted that the dominant English speaking nation dictates so many cultural forces for us, that begrudging it is just pure pathetic pettiness from a failed nation. I'm sure this will get some bitter reaction but the United Kingdom, although many parts, is all part of the State of Denial.

Despite Obama voters who often appear to be a little to much believer rather than supporter,

Despite all of this the US election has come down to 2 choices.

Voting for Hope and the American Dream (Obama)

Or

Voting for hatred, blinkered stubborn conviction and the politics of division and bigotry
(McCain - although sadly the Man is not the problem it's the supporters that are voting for him).

America has changed political parties before it would be nice to see this as the end of the sick cancer that GOP has become since it was poisoned by Reagan and his cronies.
The songs - and the candidate - remain the same 10:08pm on 29 Oct 2008 If Sarah Palin gets in (because McCains heart won't hold for 4 years) the song will be "It's the End of The World As We Know It".

The Americans may not revolt against McCain if he steals the election but the world will disown America (for a start we should kick all US troops out of Europe as a warning to America that they may have helped us defeat Facism in Europe but now it's their turn to defeat it at home).
McCain's recovery plan 07:21am on 14 Oct 2008 Justin Webbs journalism is obviously 2nd rate hack writing.

He's just recycling the debates from better paid and more experience American journalists, adding a tinge of his British snobbery and ultimately exposing that his ignorance of the country he is paid to be an expert on is astounding.

Another classic example of the BBC hiring the wrong person, over paying them and getting little to no return on their investment.

The BBC's coverage of American politics is at best pathetic. Having lived in America for 4 years and taken part in the politics over there I remember the horrible cringing I had to endure everytime I watched BBC coverage from awful Journalists like Webb who fail to do even the most rudimentary research.

Webb's simplification of American politics into the European versions of Left and Right is the first warning sign that he's clueless.
Rock star risk 11:27am on 25 Aug 2008 After having lived in the US for 4 years, lived and worked in Ohio (THE big swing state) and also lived and worked in DC, having had contacts in the Democrat and Republican camps I can say one thing with absolute certainty: Justin Webb is apparently even more out of touch with what is going on in America than any other journalist and the BBC needs to recall him so they can save themselves the embarrassment of having the the BBC look like it's clueless about what goes on in the USA. We have and English comedian working for the Daily Show with John Stewart who could do better (although Webbs coverage is a bad joke).

His remark about Biden out-shining Obama were amusing to say the least.
Separating fact from fiction 9:13pm on 15 Aug 2008 On another forum one "pro-Russian" blogger stated that Georgia was being funded by "the Jews".

That pretty much sums up the Russian rhetoric right now. The evil USA and the Jews. We should treat Russia for what it really is, a descendent of 1930's Germany. Just because they were victims then, doesn't mean they've not become what they hated.
