So what would happen if -

Penalty shoot out - penalty is taken, keeper goes the wrong way but the ball hits the post, rebounds along the line, hits the keeper's trailing foot and goes in - obviously goal awarded.

What is the striker shoots, and his momentum carries him forward and he falls over. In the meantime the ball rebounds of the post and hits the striker and goes in. Is a goal awarded? Please assume it is clearly obvious the striker was looking in the opposite direction when the rebound struck him.
You Are The Ref #8 1:54pm on 19 Jun 2008 You are all missing something very important here - we do not know if there is an opposing defender on the floor behind the goal, in which case the goal would probably be awarded.

And if any players we're lying behind the goal I'd give a goal to Holland.

You Are The Ref #4 4:46pm on 11 Jun 2008 I wonder what would have happened if this had occurred in the FA cup final, which incidentally, was won by Portsmouth this year. PUP!!!
You Are The Ref #4 4:01pm on 11 Jun 2008 What if it was a really windy day and a defender kicks a ball up field to a midfielder but the wind blows it back to his keeper.

It wasn't an intentional pass to the keeper but I reckon if a forward was close the keeper would pick it up.

Maybe let's also say the ball whizzed close to a defender who could have headed it away but chose not to.
You Are The Ref #4 3:57pm on 11 Jun 2008 I think the defender should be given some royalties by the BBC for giving Linekar and co something to talk about at half time. Good show old chap.
