New-look Aussies out to take Ashes chance 03:37am on 29 Jun 2009 Calm down lads. It's not a war; it's cricket. We're all related anyway if you go back just a couple of generations. Let's all just look forward to a good Summer of cricket between two old rivals.

England have more than a chance than usual because we have finally dropped some of the players that we used to pick even though their attitudes and form were poor (Bell, Panesar, Harmison). Some good young players in there now that really should have been given their chance earlier.

Can't wait for it to start!

Well how many times have England also been knocked out on penalties? And by biased refereeing/cheating? Such as Argentina in 1998, Portugal in the Euros, Holland in the 94 WC qualifiers, etc? Most teams have to win on penalties at least once to win anything. And refereeing often means the difference between defeat and victory. Bias, hatred and jealousy against the English is as evident in refereeing as it is on this forum.

Excuse me, but England has not hosted the WC since 1966. Mexico? They hosted it in 1970 and 1986. USA? They hosted it in 1994. Spain hosted it in 1982. I know it's terrible and unfashionable to say so, but we did give football to the world, and we do have the best league, stadia and fans in the world, and we haven't hosted the World Cup for over forty years. So maybe it is 'our turn' after all.

I have been getting sick and tired of the anti-English brigade, which is basically 90% of all English broadcasters and journalists, saying 'WE' are not good enough. Stand up, Waddle and McNulty! What do you all have to say for yourselves now?

This shows that we have had the players all along; we just needed a half-decent manager/coach. This is what I have always said all along. So stop the whining!

England must raise game in Zagreb 01:17am on 07 Sep 2008 Phil, and any other Lampard-lovers out there, perhaps you could answer us the question: When was the last time Lampard had a decent game for England? I don't even mean a good game, I mean just a decent, average performance?

How much longer are we going to have to put up with Lampard? His poor, lethargic performances for our country, along with his anti-fan moaning and his "I actually think I had a great 2006 World Cup" comments make us, the real fans, sick. That is why we boo him. When we will get a manager who will realize that 'lamps' does not play well for England and spoils the whole balance of the midfield for proper players like Gerrard, Joe Cole and Gareth Barry?

Some players can handle the pressure of playing for their country, some cannot. And some don't really seem to care anyway.
