The most divisive and tasteless selection in cricket history 11:26am on 11 Sep 2008 Thanks Toinette (no 57). I've re-read the article and don't disagree with the reasons given. but it's suits doing business with suits.

It may be old fashioned, but sport should be about sport. And it should be available to as wider audience as possible to encourage more to take it up. As the sport TV coverage becomes more fragmented no-one will be able to afford to watch it all. ( see last night's England match for example)

Given the number of free to air digital channels now, surely the BBC or ITV could use one of these without having to interupt their normal schedule (possibly showing less repeats perhaps)

Like football, we could be heading rapidly for Franchise CC and destroying the structure of the game as we know it. I for one don't want to see that happening. I'm all in favour of progress, but this isn't it and there is also taking the national game up a blind alley from which there might be no return.

What happens when Sky and Stanford walk away from the game and there is no cash left ?

Why isn't anybody standing up to this and saying no?
The alternative Olympics award ceremony 12:22pm on 26 Aug 2008 I can't believe nobody has mentioned Rob Walker and Bryony Shaw.

That was comming from about 30 seconds before it happened and serves him right for trying to interview people straight after the event.

I haven't laughed so much before going to work in years.

Well done to Claire Balding and Adrian Chiles as well for getting involved so much with the taekwondo on Saturday. It made something we didn't really care about before matter to us.....even with the little slip.
