Your ideas for Springwatch 2010 1:55pm on 23 Nov 2009 I think you have it just about right, 4 nights a week for springwatch, as the nests change so quickly and once a week for autumnwatch so that we can watch the season unfold properly. And more unsprung please, it's just enough craziness and it gives us messageboarders a chance to interact with the programme. More Gordon please, some John Aitchison please (I hope he's alright, I've not seen him in any credits for a bit either) and the chappy who writes the poetry. And how about some specials from Bill. A weekly update on his garden maybe, you could put that on on a Friday when there is no springwatch!!
Some big changes to the 5 live schedule 5:28pm on 20 Oct 2009 It's a shame that Phil W didn't get Simons spot, but at least we still get him on the weekend mornings. Good that Tony Livesey has a regular spot, he has been on filling a bit more recently and I like to listen to him. Have not listened weekend evenings since Steven Nolan has taken over, I cant stand his confrontational style. Playing devil's advocate is one thing, he takes it to a whole new level! Good that Gabby has a regular spot, really like her. But what has happened to Eleanor Oldroyd on sunday afternoons, bring her back, leave Colin on fighting talk, where he belongs!

While I think it may have been common once upon a time for posties to knock off early, I think it's probably the case that a lot of them also worked above and beyond their normal hours. The workloads at christmas used to be (and probably still are) much higher, but there was a 'we'll all pull together and get it done' mentality. If you try and make them work to rule you will lose all that good will. Then where will the postal service be??? Do we really want everthing done electronically? It's my birthday on saturday - and an e-card wont do! (she says at the grand old age of nearly 48!!!)
Simon leaves us but Wittertainment lives on 5:00pm on 15 Sep 2009 Phil Williams would be a good bet. But I hadn't thought of Tony Livesey. Good idea too!
Are criminals' families the silent victims of crime? 08:45am on 07 Aug 2009 You should have asked Bobbie to clarify his comment about people's mortgages being at risk because they have an ex con in the house. I can see how having a burglar staying with you could invalidate your contents insurance, but not how your buildings cover could be compromised. Unless you take in an arsonist, maybe?? Maybe you should get an insurer on to explain. And what would happen if you genuinely didn't know the facts about their past? If your insurance gets invalidated because someone lies to you, there will be lots of people up creeks, without paddles!!
How is swine flu affecting you? 09:29am on 14 Jul 2009 I too feel sorry for anyone who has lost anybody, however, I cant worry about this. If I get it, I get it. Unless I want to completely isolate myself there is nothing I can do about it. Worrying, in itself, stops you doing the things you want. Life's too blinkin' short as it is, just live it and deal with what comes along.
Nicky at the Last Ever Royal Show 1:35pm on 10 Jul 2009 The Royal Show used to be a must do, for farmers and anyone interested in the counrtyside. Far from saying that you shouldn't have an OB today, I say why have you not been every year!! Could we perhaps see Nicky at the Bath & West or New Forest Show. It's a poor show when you cannot do something nice for fear of complaint.
When is it right to release prisoners? 12:09pm on 02 Jul 2009 According to his son he cannot walk or talk, read or write or eat, so he is in the right place, being cared for 24/7. He had all his prime years living in freedom, when he had the youth to enjoy it, now he should serve his sentence. If he wanted a 'free' retirement he should have done his time when he was younger, he can't have it bot ways.
Is there too much sex and swearing on TV? 11:22am on 25 Jun 2009 Why no mention of the increase in the level of violence? I can ignore the swearing, dont mind the sexual content, as long as its in context (and loving) but where you used to get gunfights, and a few people getting their lights punched out, now it seems like the so called 'torture porn' is the norm. Not only do you have to know that someone is being hurt, you have to see it hurting. Horrible. I've lost count of the good dramas I have missed as I had to turn over because I can't stand the level of violence.
Will this destroy Formula 1? 3:30pm on 19 Jun 2009 Did no one hear Breakfast. There is no way the breakaway teams have the resources, people or money, to start a new championship from scratch. Where are they going to race? Who is going to televise it, and for what price? Most of the teams money comes from TV and sponsorship, so if you cant tie up a good TV deal first off, who is going to sponsor you, and the TV wont commit until you have your season set up.
Bernie will broker a truce and all will be well before the start of next season.
Who said they had to have their forms in by midnight tonight? Didn't we have a rule change 2 days before the first race this year? And Jenson Button racing with a doubtful diffuser for three races before they passed it as legal???
