That time of the year many players dread 3:31pm on 26 Mar 2009 As a non league fan of Colwyn Bay (current captain - ex Tranmere long throw specialist Davey Challinor), I love non-league football. You get a great level of camaraderie between fans and players that you wouldn't get at a higher level club, and whilst we're gutted if we lose on Saturday, we're not emotionally crippled like some of my Man United supporting friends!

The flight to quality 10:03am on 22 Jan 2009 It's not just big clubs like Aston Villa and Barcelona that give away shirt sponsorship - this year my local team (Colwyn Bay FC) forgo a sponsorship deal with InBev (our shirts had Boddingtons on the front of them) to give it to Ty Gobaith, a local charity.

Reasoning behind it is similar to what famousmrturtle said - it raised awareness of the club and help promote the brand associated with the club.

By the sounds of it you have no idea what "viral video" means.

Viral video I'm assuming you mean is videos that "infect" our youth with it's evilness. Viral video isn't that. It's a marketing term for a video that is produced that doesn't need to be advertised, as it passes on via word of mouth.

Viral videos would never contain the content you have mentioned, because it doesn't appeal to a large section of the audience. In fact, if any of them appears on services such as twitter, digg or indeed most forums, the chances are that moderators or indeed the collective group of people would hide it from view pretty quickly. As alluded to above this isn't the internet's fault, this is the individual's fault. Should you blame the inventor of the printing press because a child has seen pictures in Playboy Magazine?

Onto the article, and I completely agree, the technological sector is probably the best placed to weather the credit crunch, and be stronger for it at the other end. I see this myself with my day job (working as a computer programmer), and the company I work for is going from strength to strength, picking up a number of people who used to work for banks, guys with computer degrees, enticed by the fat paychecks. These people have now got out of the sector because they got let off. Sure they're not on mega money, but it's nice being able to do something infinitely more rewarding, creative & worthwhile.

Far too many SEO'ers focus on writing for search engines, instead of writing for users. Many of the users aren't knowledgeable about keyword density (a myth IMHO), or KEI or other buzzwords SEO'ers seem to conjure up, all they care about is what they have found via Google is what they want.

I'd be interested to see what sort of traffic numbers & increase in RSS Blogstorm gets from this article, as I'm sure from an SEO benefit he doesn't want to be ranked for the word "sinister"

I'm in complete agreeance. One of my many feathers to my bow is I carry out SEO work (or, as I like to call it, "web marketing"). There are two ways of carrying out the work in my field.
