Ramos facing Titanic struggle 00:28am on 07 Oct 2008 Looking at the Spurs situation its a shock as its gone so badly wrong so quickly. Just a couple of years ago they were being touted as the next big thing, they had plenty of young English players and were one game away from Champions League Qualification.

As an Aston Villa fan I think we are the model for clubs striving for success, we have a chairman who stands by his manager come rain or shine, we have a great academy and a policy of buying the best young english talent, but more importantly Martin O'Neill is the man responsible for every decision on the pitch. He buys the players he wants and the money men support him. With Spurs you have to wonder who gets the final say. Some of the signings have been poor but who has signed each player, Ramos or Commoli? The Director of Footbal system does not work in England full stop. Have any of the top managers over the years ie Fergie, Wenger, Mourinho had a DOF? NO! Any club that has has always struggled. Spurs need stability, and the only way to get that would be by removing Commoli. Whether Ramos goes aswell who knows? He has the track record but if you ask me they need a more hands-on manager like we have with Martin O'Neill
