Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 6:19pm on 29 Nov 2009 Does anyone think Danielle realises just what a total fool of herself she makes when she makes comments like the radio times answer??? Gave the readers a good laugh at her expense anyway.

Please leave Danielle. The joke has become boring and stale now.

The objective at the moment seems to be to make the quality on sky as low as possible. Maybe this is just part of the deal to make freeview look better than it is for sales??? Also thought the quality on BBC1 SD was extremely poor as well tonight.

Also, What would be interesting is to find out who had the say on choosing the encoders they went with?? Who actually decided the encoder was ready to use??? Also who actually did the testing with the encoder if any.

So many questions but as ever, there will be no answers from BBC HD.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 00:50am on 28 Nov 2009 In regards to Gavin and Stacey, theres no way that was an HD broadcast in a million years, no chance. Clearly an upscale. The inside house and arcade scenes were very poor.

This week we have seen Paradox which appeared upscaled and also Gavin and Stacey. Maybe the budget has been used up for the year so we have to have upscales instead???
Also as well How much of Top gear was SD sunday. Clarkson did a good 10 min segment which was clearly all SD.

Tonight Jonny Ross looked very average as usual. Ive not got any stills taken but when Ross was coming through the doors at the start the picture was a total mess and all over the place. The picture did look far better when muse were playing at the end.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 00:06am on 27 Nov 2009 Roly mentions about how the BBC have duty to use the space available wisely, well you have an even bigger duty to show top quality images to the people who pay for the channel - the viewers. Now up the bandwith and please get someone who knows what they are doing in charge of BBC HD.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 8:52pm on 26 Nov 2009 If Danielles boss is reading this blog, then I beg you Mr Keating, Do the right thing and get rid of..... I cant say the next few words as the mods will delete but im suree you know what the right thing is for the future of BBC HD. In the last 18 months BBC HD has been turned from a very promising excellent channel to a total laughing stock.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 02:35am on 25 Nov 2009 @ 322, its an absolute disgrace that Danielle was claiming what she said about bit rates. From her comment about bit rates theres 2 questions that need to be asked.
Firstly did Danielle really believe her statement that bit rates dont impact picture quality??? If so then how can she be in charge of BBC HD? and still have the job after her interview??

Second question is, If Danielle does actually know about bit rates, then was Danielle trying to deliberately mis lead viewers? If so then again how can she be in charge of BBC HD??

Before you delete this post Nick all im doing is asking 2 questions and theres no slagging off.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 00:51am on 25 Nov 2009 I wouldnt expect too much from Andys Post people in regards to how they came up with the bandwith allocation. I suspect Andys post will admit little. Please feel free to prove me wrong though Andy.

The one thing I think we all aggree on though is that we want it to be honest. Theres been very little honesty and responsibility in regards to the quality drop.

What we dont want is a post similar to Danielles that takes no responsibilities and and doesnt accept theres an issue with quality.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 00:12am on 25 Nov 2009 I think a problem we have at the minute is BBC HD are showing lots of upscales which obviously they wont admit to. Paradox was certainly an upscale which was a decent upscale, but when you are told its an HD channel with no upscales, it takes the mick a little when you are given upscales.

I assume with you watching a lot out put this means you will be recomending to the people in charge that the bandwith be upped to an acceptable level and not be fixed???
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 10:49pm on 24 Nov 2009 Just heard a rumour that BBC are making a new comedy set to be screened christmas day. Its called "A day in the life of a BBC HD controller".

Apparently its the funniest thing since Only fools and horses.

Only a rumour ive heard but it sounds very funny.
