Stop it, I thought you were following a Football Club not a company. I can just see it now, crowds of scarf wearing fans on the street outside of Glaxo all singing "One annual return spreadsheet, There's only one annual return spreadsheet" and bellowing "You're not singing anymore" at Unilever when their report comes out.

Clubs win cups, or at least try to... stop being so mealy-mouthed.

If Wenger relieved himself in the centre circle, gave the ref a wedgie, raised the middle finger at the queen, burned the flag and walked off the pitch punching a kid in a wheelchair on the way out of the ground they'd still trot out reams of 'proof' as to why he isn't the most ungracious person on the planet.

I would add though that if after going to Christ College & Harvard he didn't do well then something would be a bit amiss with the hundreds of thousands of pounds spent educating him in these fine establishments.

I too work very hard. I run a small business and I am constantly hounded by the tax man. I worked very hard at school and passed all my exams but somehow, kids from Lambeth don't seem to get the opportunity to go to Harvard that often.

This is not the green-eyed monster as someone put it. This is the harsh reality of modern life. Society is constructed to preserve an elite class and always will be. Us common types might poke our heads round the door once in a while but we'll never be welcome in the club... No matter how hard we work.
Sensible Strauss just the tonic 8:52pm on 08 Jan 2009 Personally, I think Strauss should have been made captain when Flintoff was given the position.

If the ECB hadn't been so interested in chasing tabloid headlines and beefing up their TV deals, they would have recognised Strauss' performance in Pakistan for what it was... Confident, understated and assured.

It worked for Mike Brearley and I think we could do with it now. I prefer to know that my England captains have had a good few days studying the oppo before a game, rather than being in the pub, on a Nike shoot with Thierry Henry or gadding about with Girls Aloud.
