So if your have to encrypt something surely it's not public service content and so shouldn't be funded by the license fee.

'Riots on the streets' 04:21am on 30 Jun 2009 I don't know why the BBC even bother interviewing Labour ministers, the interviewers can't seem to get a straight answer out of them and seem content to let the minister give and answer that they want regardless as to whether it's to the question or not.

How about letting us the people ask the questions, I'd be quite happy to ask anyone of our ministers the same question over and over again until they answer rather than dodge it.

Brown has spent more money than her raises in taxes so to keep this going is he:

1. Going to borrow even more
2. Raise taxes
3. Cut public spending (that's not the same as cutting services)

Either way the UK state is too big, spending something like 50% of GDP - given the private sector has to provide that GDP aren't we into the land where the state is dragging us all down?

Have you notice how no-one talks about HSBC in all this.

Were they ever really in control of inflation?

Over the past decade the competition caused by globalisation has enabled prices to fall and stay level, but now globalisation is causing competition for resources, food etc. leadning to higher prices.

Brown was quick to claim credit for the good years, but I notice how in the bad years he says it's due to things outside his control.
Under scrutiny 12:37pm on 07 May 2008 It's simple raise the tax free allowance by a couple of hundred quid and the problem goes away, no compensation, new civil servants or complex administration schemes to got with it are needed.

Of course meddling Gordon will never go for it though.
