Sacked "racy" novel teacher speaks out 10:41am on 07 Jul 2009 I think she sounds very genuine and developed a good relationship with these difficult lads. Why are some of you so judgemental?

The story was written for the lads, and with the knowledge of the Head. It was the first book one of them had ever read!!

I think she should be reinstated! I think someone with such passion for her job should be rewarded not punished!

The only way out of this mess is full, immediate disclosure of claims followed by a speedy general election. MPs are representatives of their constituency, and it is they who should have final say as to whether the MP they have elected still has the support of the voters.

If the MPs believe they have really 'only followed proper procedures' then go the the country. Let the people decide who they still trust and who has lost the trust of their voters.

MPs will then have the opportunity to present their justification for the claims they have made (or indeed not made as not all are dodgy) to people.

Let the People Decide.
Do you believe in faith schools? 11:07pm on 20 Apr 2009 I object to state funded faith schools full stop. If faith schools are funded at all it should be via the religions themselves, but I would still have concerns about their teachings, especially in the field of science, and the inevitable segregation it causes.

The other thing I must object to is the notion that only faith schools can provide a decent moral standard of upbringing and education for children. My children went to state schools, and are all moral and good and are not religious in any way.

The myth that state schools do not and cannot provide a moral framework for kids is perpetrated by faith schools in order to increase their attraction - purely to add to their prospective cannon-fodder.
