Who's planning what cuts? 09:00am on 11 Jun 2009 I for one congratulate those who stand up and say there will be cuts in public spending, as I don't want to see my children and their children saddled with high taxes to pay for all this government waste.

The government needs to get in the real world, we can't keep spending money we don't have then fire critism at those who want to do something about it whilst they have their head in the sand and promise more spending.

Thank goodness Ed Balls didn't get the chancellors job because with him and Brown in charge the country would be at the point of no return once the elections came round next year. So we done Darling for actually standing up to the bully.

Poor old Gordon Brown; he just can't help reverting to type with his bullying and blocking tactics.

No sooner has he stepped off the pulpit of reforming the expenses system than he refuses to publish details of someone who had to stand down.

How very embarrassing for all those newlabour apologists claimin today that yet agian Gordon Brown had saved his skin and was the right man for the job..

This is becoming a joke.

Strange timing the re instating of Shahid Malik, and probably one of the first of many deals which have been handed out in to help keep Mr Brown as PM. If he has been found not guilty of missue of expenses then why can't this report be published? Not publishing this report makes people draw their own conclusions along the lines of support the PM and this investigation will disappear. I wonder what would happen if I put through a plasma TV and massage chair on my Tax return, if HMRC started asking me questions would I recieve the same treatment as Malik and be given the all clear, I very much doubt it.
The prime minister is safe - for now 1:39pm on 09 Jun 2009 So in the bubble of Westminster, Gordon Brown is carrying on regardless of what the public think and Malik is given his job back after some questionable expense claims to say the least.

Meanwhile in the real world 1,660 jobs are to be lost after Lloyds have decided to close all 164 branches of Cheltenham & Gloucester.

It's a pitty that those who don't deserve to get the boot are shown the door whilst those that do, don't.
The prime minister is safe - for now 12:23pm on 09 Jun 2009 So Mr Brown has said he will change, is this the same Mr Brown who promised us a referendum on Europe, the same Mr Brown who was going to hold a General Election back in 2007, The same Mr Brown who said British Jobs for British Workers? It's just all sound bites with no action and nothing will change. His primary policy is for him to hang onto power till he is dragged out of No10 kicking and screaming, only problem for the Labour party is they either can't see this or are too gutless to do anything about it and it's this self serving attitude which will cost them dear.

btw I see Shahid Malik has been cleared of any expenses wrong doing, so this no doubt says MP's are free to claim massage chairs and flat screen TV as long as they support Brown.

No wonder he looked so embarassed and nervous whilst trying to totally avoid answering it.

All we heard at the Labour conference was more and more public spending promises.

It's a case of do as I say not as I do.

or is he there to make the tea's whilst the grown ups debate the problems.
Labour's next leader? 1:28pm on 23 Sep 2008 "Brown will pledge to help 1.4 million children get access to the internet at home by giving poorer families vouchers worth £700."

Another sign that Labour are totally missing the point.

When people are worried about how to pay their bills, Labour think it's right to throw money and people to buy computers which most won't be able to use because they can't afford the money to pay for the electricity to run them.
Labour's next leader? 08:39am on 23 Sep 2008 Brown's speech today will be like this.

Talk of so called past achievements,
Tory bashing,
Credit crunch, difficult times,
Getting on with the job,
false promises,
Tory bashing,
Canned Applause.

But in reality all mouth and no trousers, nothing will change.
Cleaning up 09:21am on 19 Sep 2008 Re question time last night what worried me the most was the fact Harriet Harman was not only justifying the spending under the labour government (laughable I know as I doubt she even knows what a public school is) but she seemed to suggest it would go on even though there is no money.

Yesterday I heard that the governments borrowing for the year was £12bn over budget before all these schemes re cutting of stamp duty, the short term fix of the 10p tax fiasco, etc, etc were brought out. Thats in 5 months of the year, we aren't even halfway through and the government shows no sign of tightening it's belt but expects us to do so. Do as I say not as I do is the motto from our government.
