Get rid of Benitez? Could be the answer, he seems so naive at times and makes decisions that confuse his teams supporters and give the opposition a lift. Imagine being a Tony Pulis or equivalent and getting the team sheet at 2pm and seeing that your opponents best players are on the bench, what a psychological boost and a massive lift.

You could be on to something here... although i still think Utd and Liverpool vying for 1st and 2nd!
How will the Premier League unfold? 10:09am on 11 Aug 2009 The prospect of passing Liverpools title haul will be a huge motivator at OT this season for both Fergie and the players - I think we'll come 1st/2nd in another run off with Liverpool.
Owen worth Man Utd gamble 11:36am on 03 Jul 2009 How can a 'free transfer' be a gamble? You can bet your life that David Gill on SAF's recommendation will have structured a deal that rewards Owen when he benefits United, i.e. appearances, assists and goals.

It also leaves a mass of money left from the Ronaldo deal and the annual £20m per season that the manager gets to freshen up the squad. Dont bet against Sir Alex springing a few more surprises.

And as for England... what great news! Owen and Rooney playing at club level can only benefit the national team as we head towards the world cup. They can now develop an understanding that might, and i use the word might lightly, give England an enhanced chance of lifting the trophy.

Fergie has done a deal here that will benefit United, England, Michael Owen but most importantly HIMSELF. He wont want be known when he retires for signing Michael Owen and that in turn ending Uniteds stranglehold on the domestic game.

Are the United sceptics (LFC, CFC, AFC) just a touch jealous that they might have missed out on a bargain... I think so!

Nice one Gordon. Your policy cannot get you the support of the electorate so revert back to what Tony did so well... pull the wool over our eyes.

Do the honest thing and get down to the palace, get parliament dissolved and let the country decide.

Who's planning what cuts? 8:05pm on 11 Jun 2009 What we need is the manifesto of all the major parties setting out their plans for the NHS and other areas such as Education. If that means cuts then so be it, all we the public want, is honesty and a chance at the ballot box to choose the party that most represent our own beliefs.

Why should I wait? I have a wife and children that I need to support, I have been made redundant twice in twelve months because the Government could not regulate my industry - Financial Services, and to be honest young man I have seen quite enough of this ineffective Government.

I admire your interest in politics at such a young age, I was very much the same at fourteen, but there are issues that need dealing with right away and that can only be done with the country deciding on who they want to take us forward.

If it is Labour, then so be it, if Conservatives get in then great, lets see how it goes. The key here is to make them all more accountable, when they mess up then they need to allow their employers, the electorate, to decide on the best course of action, just as your boss would in the private sector.

Stay interested young man, but please remember there are families up and down the country that have been paralysed by this incumbent Government! You need to take a look at the bigger picture.

Sorry, I of course intended to write 'dissolve' Parliament and not 'resolve' Parliament, although resolving it would be pretty damn good!
A call for debate 09:50am on 10 Jun 2009 Let the parties battle it out in a General Election with their manifesto's covering these key areas as standard:

The Economy
Electoral Reform
The Lisbon Treaty

The parties should pledge to implement their proposals on the above within the first two years of the new Parliament, if elected.

The country can choose then which party is best placed to handle the downturn, which party has the best plan for Electoral Reform and which party is best for them when it comes to Europe.

If you like Downing Street e-petitions, then there is one called Go to the Country Now and that is calling for Parliament to be resolved and an immediate General Election, at that point, we the electorate can choose who we want to govern the country.

Let the country decide if Mr Brown is the man to lead us, then the Labour party can dispose of him if unsuccessful or back him if he wins!
